The first example is wrong by durga sir Integer i1 =new Integer(10); Integer i2 =new Integer(10); SOPL(l1==l2) ///true it will return true if we compare integer till 127 till that jvm will take it as premitive if we write value to 128 it will be consider as wraper class object
@jvsnyc3 жыл бұрын
That is not correct. If we use the preferred Integer.valueOf( 10 ); then what you say is true. Calling new FORCES the jvm to create a new Integer object, whether it is needed or not. This is why use of it is deprecated in favor of Integer.valueOf( someInt );

Sir, At 13:15, you said equals() method, in general is meant for content comparison. But equals() method by default is meant for reference comparison. Right? the one that is coming from Object class.

Thanks for awesome video and in-depth explanation. I have one doubt: In case of WeakHashMap, if I make 'value' eligible for garbage collection in place of 'key', Object does not gets garbage collected... Why is this? import java.util.*; import java.lang.*; import java.io.*; class Codechef { public static void main (String[] args) throws java.lang.Exception { WeakHashMap m = new WeakHashMap(); Temp t = new Temp(); m.put("durga",t); System.out.println(m); t = null; System.gc(); Thread.sleep(3000); System.out.println(m); // your code goes here } } class Temp{ public String toString() { return("temp"); } public void finalize() { System.out.println("finalize executed"); } } Output: {durga=temp} {durga=temp}

The reason is that everything(Deletion, insertion) works on the basis of HashCode values of KEYS not "VALUES". First of all can you tell us what's the difference between your code and Mr. Durga's program.
