If we depend on our own sorting method then you said that keys need not to be homogeneous and non comparable then how can we compare with out same data type for sorting??
@manoharsai28866 жыл бұрын
saitheja macharla when you’re defining a sort by implementing Comparator interface to meet your own requirements then it’s up to you how you wanna compare those heterogeneous objects. Sir added the point that you have have the flexibility of having heterogeneous collection of objects when you’re implementing Comparator. Hope that helps.

values are not distinct... So if it follows set logic... Then I don't think so if you can using any predefined method

public class WeakHashMapDemo { public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception{ WeakHashMap m = new WeakHashMap(); Test t = new Test(); m.put("abcd", t); System.out.println(m); t=null; System.gc(); Thread.sleep(2000); System.out.println(m); System.out.println(t); } } output: {abcd=Test} {abcd=Test} null If we keep Test as a key then that object is garbage collected but if as a value then it is not garbage collected. can u explain why?
@pratikbhardwaj38046 жыл бұрын
values in map are stored based on keys ,values may be duplicate but key does not hence key is responsible for maintaining the lifecycle of values in map but vice versa is not true
