This is so underrated!! holy shit I was blown away from the beginning! i´ve always wanted to see what their school looked like seeing how badass they were in the movie and because theyŕe in friCCn Scandinavia??

although the castle they show in this short film (which is amazing by the way) is NOT located in Scandinavia but in Germany actually ;)

I don't think Durmstrang is in Scandinavia. Have a look on the map on Pottermore. Also, the castle here don't have the same architecture as the one in the video.

It's only rumored to be in Scandinavia. Why on earth would *Scandinavia* use Cyrillic? When you look at everything, Durmstrang is most likely in *one* part of Russia. That way they would also take students all over Eastern Europe.

Plus the name of the school is literally German and Grindelwald's got an Austrian name. It's still probably in the former East Germany area so that's why they took a lot of Eastern European students pre-1990s especially, and any rumors would help protect the location of the school.

I say Durmstrang is somewhere in Finland, North-West Russia, or Estonia

I think that is the same castle they used for Cackles Academy in the show The Worst Witch. You can find it on Netflix. Anyways, awesome video! I really wish there was a game series for Durmstrang like there is for Harry Potter where you get to explore the castle and the grounds, go on Quests and adventures and ride your broom over the many towers.

I've been trying to make a Harry Potter fanfiction about Sirius Black having a daughter who ends up going to Durmstrang for a while, then she transfers to Hogwarts and I really want to show her being at Durmstrang school first but I have a series of problems. First, I don't speak or write Bulgarian, which my character would have to know to be at that school. Second: There are TONS of ways to figure out the general map of Hogwarts, like, for instance, watching the movies, playing the games, browsing the thousands of Harry Potter pictures. There are none of these things to help me figure out Durmstrang. In both fantasy and reality, this school seems big on keeping it's secrets a mystery, which is amazing and frustrating at the same time. Third problem? Having to come up with a bunch of Bulgarian people who are unknown students and teachers at Durmstrang. I chose this plot because it was wide open for some creativity but I fear I might be biting off more than I can chew here. I might have to go "Blah, Blah, Blah, and then she went to Hogwarts." This seriously sucks because I had so much story to go with before she goes to Hogwarts. I really am at a loss. And while I have been agonizing over this, I have completely neglected my Fanfic for The 100! Problems! >_
