I had to take a second look at John to recognize him. I had gotten used to seeing him with long hair. The head shave made the face blindness obvious.

Hmm, John is sporting the only hair cut style I can manage to do LOL. Seems like a good engine option for those older Cub Cadets, too bad nobody makes an off-the-shelf adapter like you had to make. I'm looking at buying a new lawn tractor here in the near future, and the engine alone is about $2,000...Its a Kohler Command 26HP engine....no wonder the price of lawn tractors has skyrocketed, the engine and transaxle is where the money is, the frame and body is free, you just have to buy the engine/transaxle LOL.

Many Mopeds, and scooters are around the 49cc size...and a lot of these new E-Bikes I think surpass that in terms of electrical output to the motors....somebody at some point is gonna be dumb and end up with some dumb injury as a result HAHA!!!

You may want to make the shaft to flywheel coupler out of a chunk of solid stock that stamped starter cup won't hold up to the power transfer from engine to transaxle it will tear out around the flywheel bolt holes

I hope John donated that awesome hair when he decided to be Uncle Fester for Halloween.?. / The modded flywheel cup is a pretty kewl idea. Would a block of rubber drilled to countersink for the bolts to the engine, and reverse outward to the trans piece also work, and cut vibration? edit = like a hockey puck or 2 to cut bearing/bushing wear.?

I have a Series 2000 (2135 with HST) very much like this machine, so it's good to see one idea on how to swap the engine. Unfortunately, I still want the PTO clutch on it as I do use the deck with it still. I would probably just find someone who can machine or fabricate an adapter for a Honda or Clone engine and put it in place of the starter cup. I have been playing with a few ideas in my head as recently I have found that Kohler CH12.5S engine parts are getting few and far between, being it is a discontinued and old engine.

Greets from iowa, what luck i just got your website about 5min.ago this is the exact project i have to do next after i finish my toyota truck rebuild which hopefully will b finished in 2 weeks if it dont rain,harbor freight has a predator 18horse motor id like to replace the koler on the shaft drive cub .so lm wondering if there is much difference between duramax and predator.any way thanx for the video as i just subscribe and more will be revealed.
