Having a 500 gallon tank on a trailer is best practice for a generator 😊😊😊 Bet a lot of people in Houston would agree 😊

Good info. If I were change one thing, it would be to not use the "Dizzy Cam" recording style any more. Tripods are cheap.

I agree....it's on my list!

FYI. Check with A/C mfgr regarding Total Harmonic Distortion. Our 2020 York A/C needs current with less than 5% distortion. More than that can damage the A/C. Other electronic appliances may also need the same level of clean current. Durmax generators have a 12-20% level fo THD.

Great video luckily in the UK we don't need backup generator tank looking fabulous 🐠😍

Thanks! You are lucky....I live where we don't need it often, but rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it! 😉

Did you need to use any sort of surge protection?

Hi there! Not on the generator itself, but all devices in our house has surge protectors on them.

Do you have a Soft Start on the AC unit? With an LRA of 144, I'm shocked it didn't pop the generator circuit breaker. The Duromax XP13000 only outputs a little over 41 running AMP's, the initial startup on your AC is 144 AMP's! I have the same generator and a 3.5 ton AC unit. It pops the breaker on AC startup. The LRA on my condenser is 112. I'm installing a Micro-Air Soft Start that should bring the initial in rush of current down to 35-40 AMP's on startup.

Nope we don't have a soft start on our AC, last summer replaced both the furnace and AC at the same time. We have used it several times and it never popped the circuit breaker. It runs the whole house, most importantly the AC and my fish tank. No issues...and a whole lot cheaper than a Gernerax. We just had to hire a electrician to wire both electrical panels, because we run two 200 amp panels, but we only backfeed one panel.

@@WRASSEREEFCHANNELWOW! With a Locked Rotor Amperage of 144 AMP's I'm surprised the generator breaker doesn't trip. It's only a momentary spike but still, it's over 3 times the rated generator amperage output!

@@js7447 Our new AC is a 5 ton unit.....so maybe that makes a difference?!

Wow is right! I would not have believed it if I hadn’t seen it. At 13000W peak capacity, the generator should only be able to supply about 54A. The 27.1 RLA means the unit draws 6500W to run. If max running watts is 10,500W, that leaves about 4000W to run everything else. However my understanding on these portable generators is to not exceed 80% of max running watts for prolonged periods (8400W) so that should leave about 1900W. You must be real happy to be able to run that AC!

@@FeedmeSeymore I am totally happy that runs the AC! Especially the fish tank! LOL!
