This music reminds me of the magical journey my level 11 undead priest went through in order to find the Crossroads. So I had recently hit level 12 and went to Brill to learn new skills. While I was in the tavern, my best friend who had started a tauren warrior sent me a whisper telling me I needed to come to the Barrens, as it was the best leveling zone, and we could level together. I ran around in Tirisfal Glades for 30 freaking minutes trying to find the damn zeppelin tower (didn’t know I could ask the guards). Because my computer was so bad I had terrain distance set to minimum, so spotting it from Brill was impossible. When I finally reached the tower, I managed to get on the wrong zeppelin and ended up in Stranglethorn Vale. Luckily, I had set my hearthstone to Brill so I hearted back and got on the real one this time. Stupid as I was however, I stood on the edge of the zeppelin as it was flying into Durotar, and accidentally pressed forward on my keyboard as I was reaching for my glass of soda, thus ending up in the water outside of Durotar. I whispered my friend in frustration, wondering what to do next, he told me to look for the gates of Orgrimmar, which I naturally didn’t see. I swam to land and started walking down the coast, aggroing raptors and scorpions on my way. I managed to end up in the canyon with the harpies, and got completely lost in the caves there, asking in general chat if anyone knew where Orgrimmar was. The cooldown on the hearthstone was 1 hour back then, so hearting wasn’t an option, so I just wandered aimlessly around, killing harpies, and dying a few times before I managed to find a road. Following this road, I finally came to Razor Hill and was relieved to see civilization after 1+ hour of lurking around in caves fighting harpies and thunder lizards. I asked around for the road to crossroads, and got told by a level 6 troll hunter named “omghunter” that I should just continue down the road. Well, I learned that day to never take a troll’s advice, cause I ended up in Sen’Jin village, and was now more lost than ever. However, at this point my friend told me to just continue south and swim across the sea towards Ratchet, where the road to the Crossroads was quite easy to find. I have no idea how, but somehow I managed to end up on the freaking troll islands, though the mobs here were grey to me, I spent a good amount of time here walking around, looking for this so-called Ratchet. Finally I understood I had to swim further south, but I soon realized that these waters were infested by level 17+ sea creatures that aggroed me from a freaking mile away and ate me before I could do much against them. Many painful corpse-runs and releases later I spotted the sea port of Ratchet in the distance, and I felt extremely relieved when I finally swam ashore. I found the road leading to Barrens, and while I did get lost a couple of times, ran into a few quill boars, and read some Chuck Norris jokes in the barrens chat, I eventually ended up at the Crossroads, and was met by my friend who was currently dueling while waiting for me. We then proceeded to quest together in the Barrens for the rest of the evening, well into the night, until the sun was shining through my window. This song reminds me of this magical journey. A noob’s quest in the vast world of Warcraft, trying to find the freaking Crossroads.

@Grogritark9 жыл бұрын
I remember about six years ago when I first played WoW. I created an Orc warrior. I was completely confused as to what to do. I think after finishing a few quests in Durotar (including the old northwatch keep ones, epic) I trained in mining and spent about a day getting copper ore and rough stone. I smelted all the bars and sold them to the vendor, thinking I was rich with my 2g! Six years on and that orc warrior is much higher level. He raided four expansions, gathered over 15,000 acheivement points and I had something like 150 days played. Best game I ever played.

The original music in classic WoW was truly amazing. Going from zone to zone felt like going into completely different worlds. You just couldn't help getting emotionally involved as you played through the game; spending a lot of time questing in one zone and having that great feeling of accomplishment as you move to the next new zone full of new mysteries and things to explore, new people, and some old friends, too! The music just brought the entire game to life like no other game I've seen since. I'm so happy to have experienced this game from 2004-2006. I grew so much in my ability to dream and have fun. This soundtrack transmits the journey of the orcs and the horde in general through out Warcraft's lore; starts with a tune which transmits mystery; the Orcs arriving at Durotar, looking for answers, for a place to be safe, then turning into a big silence and this melody inspiring hope, for the exiled orcs who once were their own doom. Looking for redemption but later it turns into this this kind of tragic melody, looking in retrospective to how the war devastated them. And that's much of what I can think of now. This Soundtrack really tears me up, it transmits so much, even in Westfall.

I've hardly ever gotten chills from music before but this did it, it takes me back to the old days. I remember when I first bought WoW I was so young at the time I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. The first week of release, despite the crashes, the masses of players I managed to make a host of different characters. Man just exploring durotar and mulgore for the first time was amazing. Very few games have ever evoked that much emotion. I gripe everytime I think about what they did to the old world with Cataclysm. All the soul and substance ripped out for $$$.

Nothing will ever match the atmosphere and feeling of World of warcraft.. I could spend hours just revisit my favorite zones and just enjoy the beutiful music. I quit after 5 years of unforgettable fun, and i still miss it :,(

MAN! I Miss this shit so much. Sitting here listening gives me goosebumps of all the wonderful times I spent in this zone. 8 years of my life I spent on this game. I do not look back and wonder why, because when I came home and logged in to my WoW account nothing else mattered. WoW players need to unite march to Blizz HQ and demand our old game back.

wow. this track has so much feeling in it. I am brought back to my first ever character, an orc rogue travelling around durotar doing quests, going "Whoa" while seeing a lvl 70 character in epic equipment ride past me as I quest about in durotar. good times, sadly the game isnt what it used to be and it will be missed but times change.

This music just triggers an ancient feeling of nostalgia within me. It's a feeling different from any other feeling.

December 2004, 4 years old my dad made me play this game. I was a orc trying to collect enough apples to get the apple food from the quest guy. That was my first quest ever the memories are so deep dude

I tear up hearing this, after playing WC3 for years i bough WoW the day it came out. Started an orc rogue, took like 6 weeks becoming lvl 40, and it was the best time ive ever had in any sort of video game.

This reminds me of my first steps into the world. I was frail and inexperienced. All I had was a battle harness and an axe. Nonetheless I was ready and determined to embark on what would be the greatest journeys of my life. The Horde needed new recruits to defend the then young Durotar and help out our allies, the trolls, the tauren and recently also the undead. Ahead of me were new lands to see, strong friendships to make, foes to defeat and challenges to overcome. I was full of expectations, I was happy. As a young and green level 1 orc warrior, now 12 years ago I set out for adventrue and this was the music I heard. This song brings many memories and warmth to this old warriors heart. LOK'TAR OGAR! FOR THE HORDE! FOR DUROTAR!

This brings back memories. Playing WoW in the old times certainly was sort of a real life adventure, especially rising through the PvP ranks with my newfound online friends, to get that Frostwolf mount. Good times, long ago! Here's a toast to you, Monte!

I played WoW from January 2005 to December 2010. I can't believe its been a year and a half, this stuff is all too familiar still.

I played Classic for about a year - The feeling was still there, just as epic as first time. Would like to mention that alot is not nostalgia, but actually better game design. The first 3-4 versions of wow were the best, much better design than today.

this remains me to those first days discovering the game and don't wanting to stop besides i had to go to sleep and get up early the next morning :P this is one of the ways wow captures you in its world: the music

this music brings back a long forgotten feeling of being a little kid again, and when i try and reach out and grab this feeling i cant quite get my fingers round it and it slips away; the first day my dad showed me wow and i made an orc lock going round durotar telling my gran about it and her not approving of the game lol, then not wanting to leave the starter zone! Those were he times, and i miss them and vannila wow to terrible :(
