Dusit Thani, Mudhdhoo Island, Maldives, February 2024

This is the video of our 7 day visit to Dusit Thani Resort on Mudhdhoo Island in the Maldives in February 2024.
It's a lovely island in the Bhaa Atol, run by a Thai hotel chain. It is 700 metres long by 300 metres wide. I cycled right round the island in six and a half minutes, as can be seen in the video.
All the staff are very friendly and welcoming, from our own personal butler, to the bar and restaurant staff. it only has 94 villas, so maximum capacity is around 200 guests. Which means it is a quiet, uncrowded island. The staff outnumber the guests by two to one. So the service is excellent.
We had a lovely stay, on what has become our favourite island in the Maldives.

Hi, Was it Hanifaru Bay excursion to see mantas? Could you do it on any day (the manta snorkelling)? We want to see mantas and ideally whale shark on the same trip - and wonder for how many days do we need to stay in Dusit for that. Other than mantas, I’d pick a different resort for white sandy beach, turquoise water, newer everything, and better snorkelling/house reef. Thank you

Hi Linda, we were there I February. We didn't go to Hanifaru bay, it's out of season there. They took us to an atol on the neighbouring island group. They run a trip called lucky manta two or three times a week. They tell you its not the right season but you might get lucky. They saw one young manta feeding. So we swam to it and spent about 40 minutes with it. Then back too the boat, then they saw a group of 8 mature mantas, so we spent a long time with them.
