Thanks for the feedback. Most of the people only think about the Rhine river as landmark for the Dusseldorf area. But there is so much more to see during the approach before landing.

Good video! The first few times I landed here (as passenger) I was terrified because on the approach you are just getting nearer and nearer that wood until suddenly the runway appears and you're safe lol. But I think the most impressing approach is at night when do you realize how such a big monster is this conurbation of the Ruhr+Rhein

thank you for the scenic tour!You were 5 Min. away from the airport when you crossed Hilden, you then went east and north in order to fly back south toward Hilden. Anyway, I really like the way you blend in the cities, towns and lakes. I was hoping you would fly over Wuppertal. I seem to recognise a voice 😀

Thanks for watching and for sharing your observations! Depending on the runway in use in Düsseldorf and from which direction we arrive, we have very often some great views of the city of Hilden. Sometimes, we also see Wuppertal.

Schönes Video, wobei ich die anderen mit Cockpit-Ansichten besser finde. Landet ein A320 auf der 23R mit Autobrake Medium oder Lo? Der Abrollweg kommt ja Recht schnell, sonst müsste man noch ans Bahn Ende rollen

Vielen Dank fürs Anschauen! Ich sehe das genauso: Ich finde die neueren Videos mit den zusätzlichen Blicken ins Cockpit auch viel besser. Bei der Runway 23R in Düsseldorf landen wir manchmal mit Autobrake Low und manchmal mit Medium. Das hängt vom Gewicht und dem Wetter ab. Der Highspeed-Turnoff kommt sehr schnell und gerade bei nasser Bahn und einem schweren Flugzeug ist Autobrake Medium hilfreich, um nicht am Ende der Bahn abrollen zu müssen. Eine genaue Berechnung führen wir vor jeder Landung durch. Auf der Basis entscheiden wir dann, was wir benutzen.

Thanks for your feedback. Average descent rate from 7800 feet to 3000 feet was at about 1500 feet (460 meters) per minute. The initial descent rate was at about 3000 feet per minute with a gradual decrease as we were approaching our target altitude of 3000 feet. We had to extend full speedbrakes for a while during the descent to reach the rate and to keep the speed not above 250 knots (463 kilometers per hour).
