You should only open the blast gate to the Shark Guard by half. Too much air is flowing to the top . So just enough air is needed for the dust and should not pick up cutoffs. I'm sure you will find the need to change out those thin flex hoses too. They will wear out and get destroyed before you know it. Get a thicker mil flex hose: Great job! Super ideas!

My table saw is by the far the biggest dust producer in the shop even with my dust collection system. It's almost all from the blade. That shark guard looks awesome and seems to do incredibly well. Thanks for showing that.
@StoneandSonsWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
Yo Yopp! The shark guard makes a BIG difference! There are a few specks that get away, but it's definitely better than before (like a lot better). :)
@johndesormier80993 жыл бұрын
Are you happy with the 4” dust port on the Shark Guard or would you recommend the 2 1/2” port. How do you like the adjustable Irving knife? I am considering the Shark Guard for my late 90’s Unisaw. Thanks
@Pghpete55 жыл бұрын
Thanks again! I have the same 36-725 and its a great saw but yeah dust collection is horrible on it. I've ordered 3 zero clearance plates (cnced) you recommended and couldn't be happier. I'll have to look into the shark guard too.

Would the Harbor Freight system be a upgrade from my shop vac hooked up to a small cyclone into a 30gal barrel??
@StoneandSonsWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
I would think so. Add a Wynn filter as well

How do you find the collection to be from the top of the miter saw? I’ve got a similar situation where it will be hard to get a port behind and under my miter station. Just wondering since I always thought it wouldn’t work well.
@StoneandSonsWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
It’s working great for me so far. The bigger pieces will settle, but the finer dust gets removed. It will depend on your collector and how far it is away.

I am curious what happens at the end of this narrow hose going to the CNC machine. Obviously you have less air flow, but how does the pressure look like?
@StoneandSonsWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
When I use the cnc I also open the planer port which is on the same transition. That allows for 6 inches to be opened up. I have also opened a third 4 inch port for more air. The dust at the cnc project gets removed either way. So, it’s been a non issue. Not sure about what the pressure looks like.

Great sucky vid. I'm envious. What are you using for 4" flexible hose?
@StoneandSonsWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
Haha! The 4” flex hose is from Rockler and peachtree woodworking. Just regular clear dust hose

Do you have the Clearvue turned on when running your DeWalt DW735 Planer? I always thought it was bad to have it running since that planer has its own internal blower motor. Can both be running at the same time? Thanks!
@StoneandSonsWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
I run the cyclone WITH the planer. The blower is a plus.

I have seen on other videos showing dust collection that you have to ground the hose to prevent static electricity. Do you do that? Is it necessary? Nice set up you have a lot of good ideas. Thank you
@StoneandSonsWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, I grounded the system to eliminate shocks at the plastic hoses.

As I mentioned in the beginning of the video, my goal here is to hopefully give people ideas they can use in their shops. I’m not selling anything.

It would have been nice if you actually showed the connections to your machines. You never showed how the bandsaw, table saw, or router were hooked up. All you showed was a bunch of video of pipes and hoses.
@StoneandSonsWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
Did you watch the whole video? I showed the bandsaw hoses. They are not connected to anything, just tie wrapped or jammed in place to suck up the dust. I also showed the table saw overhead port, but the port on the bottom of the table saw is a typical dust port. It's a hole with a hose connected to it with a hose clamp, pretty simple. I also cover more information and more details in the website article. Thanks
