On the subject of government funding for games, it's been long lost to time but the EU developed a game years ago to explain taxes to children. It was called Taxlandia. IIRC it had 3 age brackets from 6 to 16 that changed the complexity of the 'simulation'. The crazy part being that to 'win' the game you needed to jack up taxes (low tax made people unhappy) and cut services (every service caused a negative counterservice stronger than the service offered). If you invested in parks it made people sad because of crime, if you invested in police to correct that it made people sad because of prison overpopulation, if you invested in prisons it made people sad because of NIMBY, it was all cycles that just encouraged cutting services to remove all externalities. Turning tax up to a flat 50% and ending turn let you win on turn 2. Turning the flat tax up to 80% made people even happier.

He obviously doesn't know, but that didn't stop him.

Craig doesn’t know, he stated he only watched the first 2 minutes of Weddle’s video about ‘secret recording’, and based on his statements following that, he’s completely unaware of why AI recording was mentioned, if and how much Weddle received, etc. IMO it’s fine to have an opinion based on ignorance, as long as you have clear disclaimers of said ignorance, but it was not provided, so most people would assume Craig is informed on what he’s talking about. What is strange is why have a dedicated segment for Mr Beast when you’re not even informed on new from couple weeks ago, and conveniently skipped over CEO and that other executive’s sexual misconduct allegations?

I watched that Weddle dude cry about his experience.. made 100k+ for being isolated and doing challenges. I would argue that most people would trade a couple weeks in solitary for 100k. He came across to me as cringe.
@tigerking816515 күн бұрын
Very much so. Weddle did himself no favors by promoting his channel, his Patreon, and acting like a schizo on his videos. What’s odd is Craig chose to have a Mr Beast segment but didn’t get information. Weddle turned down $190k as he didn’t earn it, talked it down to $50k just to cover expenses and his taxes from the $100k he received initially. Weddle also explained why AI was mentioned since it was floating around and people sent it to him, so he confirmed it to be fake, he just used it as clickbait. Weddle’s video was couple weeks ago. The Dog Pack video uploaded yesterday that Craig mentioned has sexual misconduct allegations of the CEO and another executive that for some reason no one bothered to bring up and discuss.
@tokindave4515 күн бұрын
@tigerking8165 admittedly, I only watched the DogPack videos, so I'll have to check out that AI stuff. I mean, clearly, Beast is a modern-day snake oil salesman, but Weddle is just trying to capitalize.. where DogPack seems to be legitimately disgusted and trying to shed light.

These games like Dustborn and Cat Park should not be a surprise. Think back to 2020. What game suddenly became a massive hit? Among Us. What was that game about? Lying, murdering, and betraying your friends to an angry mob. Does anyone really think that game's sudden success was purely a coincidence. At the same time it hit this peak, the government was also telling us all to snitch on our neighbors for not wearing masks or obeying lockdowns. I believe in coincidences. Coincidences happen everyday, but I don't trust coincidences.

I feel like you have to have somewhat of an interest in the sport of soccer/football to enjoy the 'push-pull' you speak of. I never played (besides FIFA ha), but I see what you mean and appeciate this dynamic that in football's drawn out pacing creating opportunity for higher highs and lower lows, so to speak. And knowing how the positioning and pacing works factors into the viewer's appreciation more than other fast-paced, constantly high intensity sports like American Football. I think it reflects on the culture in some ways, but just my 2 cents. Oh and the rules can be a bit confusing to a new viewer.
