Great podcast with Dustin and Burton, I love Dustin and Burton, I’m gay too, I have cerebral palsy I use a walker and wheelchair, I can’t wait until I find a husband and have kids, I would love to do surrogacy! I agree with everything yall said! I love y’all much! Y’all are my boys! I tried to go to college to be an anesthesiologist but it was gonna be too hard because of my cerebral palsy, so now I donate to the anesthesiologist Foundation! I can’t drive because of my cerebral palsy, so I’m gonna get my all electric car and let other people drive it for me! I’m 33! Are y’all gonna do a podcast with 2 Dallas dads? They are awesome! Both started on the wrong footing / to bring a child into the world it takes a man and a woman in a marriage ( god plan) not two men ( men cannot get men pregnant) put you thing in the place it was design to and they will be no problem / you are going against mature that is y u have problem. Have sex with a woman ( as mature intended it to be and natural benefits will follow) the natural family is man and woman ,/ man and man is unmatural family / that is y u have to resort to unnatural means to force to have a family with two fathers

I love what Dustin says about the confidence you speak to children about LGBTQ families. We've always talked to our kids about how all families are different and beautiful. So now whenever our youngest overhears her older brother being teased about all the girls who are crushing on him, she confidently reminds all his friends that boys can like boys (and girls can like girls) too... we overhead him telling her she's absolutely right, in front of all his friends. I just love how matter of fact they are. It isn't complicated. It doesn't have to be. Our kids know they are loved for who they are, and all their friends are accepted unconditionally in our home for who they are.

43:16 just wanted to say, gay ppl aren’t the only ones who get called selfish for using surrogacy or IVF. i have a female cousin who got tired of waiting to find the right man, and so she decided she was going to use.. i think it was IVF? she got donor sperm and it was injected in her… i think. maybe that’s not IVF? but it’s along the same concept as she chose to have kids and raise them as a single mother. and she gets called selfish for choosing to willingly have children with no father and gets told by some ppl that her kids are going to have issues without a father figure in their lives. i think many ppl are just hung up on that issue alone. and i get it to a certain extent as i think both a mom and dad can be very valuable in a child’s life, but i also know that a kid can thrive in a single parent household, just as a two parent household when they have plenty of love.

I think Chasten Buttigieg would be a good person to talk about adoption for gay families. I've heard him talk about it on another LGBTQ podcast but it was for a short segment so I think a longer-form conversation about his experiences would be really interesting. He's been doing a book tour all summer so he should be "bookable". Hopefully viewers wouldn't find him innately political due to who his husband is, but I find him to be charming and heartfelt in his own right.

I think it is sad that people feel they have a say in whether you have children of your own. However... you are mistaken in believing straight couples are not told they shouldn't use IVF or surrogates. It happens more than you would believe, especially within conservative / religious groups. I had a close friend (straight) who went the route of IVF because she felt she would never find anyone to love her before her eggs were not viable. The comments made, some quite aggressively, were very negative. All from straight people. She went through with it and has a beautiful son. My point is that too often comments are attributed to anti LGBT when alot are just all encompassing conservative people and those views are directed at straight and LGBT persons. Without a doubt an LGBT person / couple will hear it more often but I just want to point out those same anti surrogate people will go after straight people too. All in the name of it "not being natural." It's wrong and collectively everyone is part of the problem if we don't stand up and push back, straight or gay.

I think it's the most wonderful thing when two people from any community want to have children we need more good examples of tolerance in our country and not any judgment from people who aren't living in these communities and what's going on other people's lives, the nerve of other people having any judgment on anyone's life.
