Islam needs to fight the top guys or else he’ll have no legacy. He is so much better than everyone else in the division but all his resume shows is a win over Hooker, 2 defences against a Featherweight (even though Volk is extremely good) and a win over Oliveira.

It all comes down to timing. Islam needs to fight two times this year and wants to fight in June. Charles and Justin will not be able to rush back into a full fight camp if they win. If Charles wins he will more than definitely get a title shot next. Just at the end of the year.

I beleive ufc fucked up here. Islam himself said he wanted to fight 3 times this year, and for some reason they booked both justin and charles for 300 (who are really the only ones deserving of a titleshot at 155 rn). Now, by not giving him dustin, islam will have to wait untill october/november for abu dhabi card, and thats it for this year when he himself said he wants to fight 3 times. If dusntin v islam happens on 302 in june, islam is probably still avabiable for abu dhabi card, while for both gaethje/oliviera abu dhabi is also the eraliest they would return after 300. With that being said, dustin doesnt deserve it, islam himself said it, dustin knows is, everybody knows it, but it is what it is and even if they fight in june, that doesnt change a thing for justin/charles since they both wont be avabiable before fall anyway. Ps, just to point out how much ufc dropped the ball here, ufc 301 is in Brazil and two of the biggest Brazilian fighters in the ufc are figthing on 300. Yeah Gj ufc 👍🏻

If y’all knew even a little bit of anything about the fight game you’d realize that it’s either Dustin right now or waiting until October to see Islam fight which is a fight once a year at this point. It’d put a hault to the division yet again. People want to see Islam fight and win. Dustin is very beatable for Islam and is a good name to have on the resume after it’s all said and done.
