I've had to shake so many drones out of trees and I can catch a ball OK but for some reason I'm drone-catch-challenged, soo unco. As it slams in to the ground missing my hands by 6 inches I just look and shake my head in disbelief. Your catch was masterful. Mark me jealous.

When you look either all the way up or down, there are arrows which you hit to either have it fly straight up or down 👀

Have watched a number of reviews on this drone...in a couple of them the pilot all of a sudden loses control and crashes after a left turn in each video..in one instance the pilot was near the water/lava line and was unrecoverable...would suggest keeping it in an area where recoverable at least until recognized by DJI that this may be a problem and not pilot error and can be fixed....also has been found that the home point changes unexpectedly on its own...congrats on your new place!

I got dizzy and felt sick for about the firs 5 or ao flights when beginning FPV years ago. Most people adapt and it goes away but some don't 🍻

Day one... Crashed the Avata into some twigs at full speed (normal mode), it smacked on the ground, battery flying ... I put it back togheter and just flew off as if nothing happened. It's a pretty though one

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have not yet decided whether to buy this drone, and I am little confused why every other youtuber who reviewed the Avata did so with the FPV controller. You are the only one who tried it and used it and flew it as it comes out of the box with the motion controller. Yes, I know it is limiting, but it is how it is sold and from what I have seen, the FPV control is scarce at the moment. Great review, this puts me closer to getting one soon.

Just a FYI, but those silica packs are not doing anything. They were likely already dead before you even got the package. Once exposed to air, they absorb moisture til full and then die. They need to be recharged by drying out in an oven or thrown in the trash. Just thought I’d mention that. Silica packs have a very short life unless put in a sealed container like an ammo can or something…. that doesn’t get opened.

@@DustinDunnill What I'm saying is that it's not insurance.... because it already filled itself with moisture long before your package arrived. It's not doing anything anymore. If you recharged it by drying in an oven, or put a new one in the bag..... it would work again..... for about a week until it's full of moisture again.

Aloha, brah. I just got my Avata a few days ago. Have not opened it yet. I did watch many videos about the Avata before buying one. However, there is one major issue (unexpected crash doing a turn and bank), which I hope DJI will fix soon in the next update. BTW, welcome to the mainland.

You did a good job getting the drone back after crashing into the tree bro. Your a brave man flying through small gaps like that. I wonder if you can help me bro when I bought my drone (mavic Air) I got the fly more version with 3 batteries the other day I wanted to have a few hours in the local fields so decided to charge and update everything. I put all three batteries into the multi charger and only two charged when I checked the third wont even light up on charge is there anything I can do to rescue this battery bro? I'm sure you figured out already since this video is old, but if you are in manual mode you will go faster just like the fpv drone .... well no not as fast as the fpv drone but maybe 45/50 IOf course you need the other controller.

Variable 3-20Mbps up / 10-150Mbps down.. Average was not as good as I expected but the service it replaced was only 3 / 9 max for about the same price so I'm not disappointed. 🍻

Shouldn't be depth. Depth requires 2 cameras on the drone (1 to emulate each eye), this only has 1. Should just be flat 360.

I really want this I wish I could trade this for the mini 2. But the mini 2 is very quiet at fast the video quality is very good even at max 30fps 4K it looks great. But for me the mini 2 too fast to take cinematic shots unless I want to move like a robot with no smooth turning. I tried mastering this in sports mode but again its too fast I wish you can control speed easier because a slight tilt of the joystick you are 0-30 in 2 seconds. Yes you can lower sensitivity but that also makes it impossible to turn left and right. I'm gonna sell my mini 2 not to get the mini 3 but to get this drone

@@lesterdude999 You can set the diopter from -8 to +2. And they also give you an reference glass, so you get an fabricated lens for the goggles to get like a -9 or a +4 diopter.

I just bought 2 fpv drones the avata with everything that is meededen so i spent 3000€ and the dji fpv drone is my favoriete so i sell my complete avata for €600 and iT costs me €1480 but iT is new new new with flymore kit or i want to trade iT for dji fpv assesoires like the fpv flymore kit, an God antenne and i have 2 goggles and i want to trade iT for the smaller one with the 2 antenas , please help me out

Other reiveres I watch say they get a average of around 13 mins. Which is really good for fpv accually. A normal fpv drone averages 5-8 mins

I hope so, according to DJI over discharge can seriously damage your batteries. It is recommended to land your drone when the battery level is 15% or greater to maximize its service life. If your battery levels are depleted past 15%, you need to recharge immediately to avoid damage.

If you really push it to 0% and don't recharge for a long time you MIGHT notice something but the effect is negligible unless you do this a lot. Just speaking from experience. I go down to 0% very occasionally especially for my range tests and honestly don't notice any differences after years with same battery 🍻

Want a nearly new avata with iPad mini 6 for the mods its range is 74 km with a tesla accu ( 2.000 dollar) and in sport mode you can easely reach 180 km per hour and who wants to trade this ready to flycombo with 128 gb sdcard, 200 gb sd on board, range ten km,but this avata can turn on very cool mods, speed 140 km per hour in sport mode, range 14 km ,actualy 7 km but you want to fly back in stead of walk 14 km, and of you see corps, only unplugged the iPad an everything is normal, flymore kit everything you just read for €650,00😊

You can try turtle mode and that should flip it back over. You access turtle mode through the goggles. You can also program the C1 button to turtle mode if you have the FPV controller v2.

Man its been a long time since we met back in 2015 but you sure helped me with my F550 . Well 9 drones later I just 3 weeks ago got the DJI Avata with Motion Controller and Goggles 2 , this is the drone I have been looking for since my first drone . Somehow the bell got turned off and I have missed no telling how many of your videos , but that's fixed now so hope to be talking with ya again . Great video on the Avata . I wanted to get into FPV flying but the short flight times and the long learning curve didn't appeal to me. And then along came the Avata. For anyone in a hurry to experience FPV, this looks like the way to go. Mine doesn't ship until the 30th of this month. Your video and experience gave me a lot more confidence. Also using viasat internet but was knocked offline for several months due to a cyber attack on its infastructure but have been back online with a sketchy connection but am also looking into the starlink as a back up internet connection. Few points. Gps is only accurate to within metres so the return to home won't be perfect. Becareful pointing the drone down when doing down hill. It seems to be a bug and as you found, it suddenly dives for the ground after you push it for a while. Happens when ground is falling away under the drone and you want to keep down low.

You can hit max speed when you are in manual mode. But it will be in true FPV mode with less "hand holding" safety margin. You'll need to use the FPV controller to use it in manual mode top speed and not available with motion controller far as I can tell.

This drone looks pretty idiot proof, and provides some great footage of a type that would be difficult, or at least more risky, than using a conventional drone. I can see how this could be a great addition for any drone video enthusiast.
