Hi my led lights from ODS and main control are constantly red. After replacing the main power board, I had a very minor crash at low altitude and low speed. ever since leds are red and it behive funny. meaning it turn to left or right, it depends of the day... any idea?

Tryed out the 250 today. Flys real nice and the ascend speed is crazy ! After about 7 min. it did the "death roll"... I should have done what you did with the switch on the radio right from the start....

I bought one like this (250 runner) around 2015 but I've only used it once after it almost drifted away 🤣. And since then I haven't tried it out till now that I found you with tips. Your right, most of the video people crash them lol. I didn't crash mine hard since it had rain the day before and I fly it on a sunflower field it soft landed. It almost happened to me like when you dropped it hard. I managed to lift it at the last fraction of a second and got scared and put it away lol.

You don't need to do all that "Stuff" to keep the Flip Of Death FOD from occurring. I just adjust my Throttle Trim Tab to about 4% so it's Armed, but the Props aren't spinning. I entered TX Settings and Re-Set throttle Position Failsafe, to shut Power off if TX Signal is lost, which keeps it from flying away, ever. I Modified the Battery Bracket with 2mm Carbon Tubes, for strength, and the Upper Panel as well. I run 5045 V2 Tri Blade Props w/Nylocks (Self Tightening Props can/do Spin off in flight on Rapid deceleration), and got rid of that 41gram stock metal Run Cam, and bought a RunCam Swift, at like 12g. My Runner is lighter and stronger than stock, and scarey fast

Good review...looks like a tough little quad-can crash with minimal damage. From your review it looks as thought that it would be a good BNF quad where you use your own transmitter and your own FPV equipment, especially since many people move their FPV equipment from model-to-model as the situation warrants and although I'm not a fan of the runcam, the mobius has similar lag time...better to use the small cams for live FPV.

Wow, I did exactly what what you said!! The first day in the first 10 minutes of flying my copter crashed just as you described. I throttle up then all the way down then back up, then CRASH!! Just like you said. I've done this same sequence to other copters I own and I had NO issues. Can you PLEASE do a video showing exactly how to make the change to the radio so we don't have the fall of death ?? Please!! I need to see how it's done. Thank you

Dustin Dunnill I couldn't enjoy FPV racing as I am paranoid about everything that would mangle my quad. Flying by FPV in the open is fine, as I can verify the position on a big screen housed in the carry case. Cheating I accept but it is protecting my investment LOL

By the way the clover leaf thats provided with the RTF is left hand polarized thats why its pulsing in and out. Just put a right hand polarized and you're good to go. You might need an adapter. CHEERS!

You need voltage osd info for proper racing. Frame had fibreglass middle layer too but it did do ok in the light crashes.

Wouldn't a low voltage beeper be ok in place of OSD voltage?

It was not defective-the side screws were too long and was making contact with the boards electronics, the solution is simple take off the stock screws and use shorter ones. I had the same problem and i just kept trouble shooting and i got lucky to figure it out.

Hi Dustin, great review. It sounds like the Walkera 250 is kinda buggy. Maybe they listened to your feedback and improved the design/set-up with the Walkera 250 Advanced model? Also, how is the flight time with the Walkera 250 (even with your lighter set-up)? ------I am currently looking at the advanced model and thinking of picking up three of them for a friend and his two teenage boys, but I am concerned I would just be buying them a headache based on some of the challenges you experienced in your video with the 1st gen Walkera 250. Have you looked at the newer advanced version or have you any comments about it? -------I am a newbie myself starting on a Husban x4 (big fun in a little package), but I also bought a SRD250 from Helipal and it is definitely a big boy's toy (super durable with a short flight time of 7-8 min). Helipal offers a Walkera 250 advanced RTF package where they supposedly test it prior to shipping (My SRD250 from Helipal was a RTF package and it worked great out of the box). Anyway looking for guidance on buying a small sized (250ish) RTF drone package that is not too expensive and is easy to fly and own. One thing about the Walkera 250 advanced that I liked a lot is its plug-n-fly approach to hardware components rather than having to solder wires when something breaks (like my SRD250, I'm replacing the 14awg battery leads after shearing them in a most wicked crash,lol). Any comments would be great, thanks again.

+rane Hi Rane, I haven't spent any time with the runner 250 advanced but I hope to review it soon. I've got to do some Mobius cam review testing so i'll do some timings on the runner when I test with and without the cam. There were some defects with mine but this is the case with all electronics. I was just unlucky but felt I had to mention it in the review vid. Yes, the modular design of the runner is neat and there are more and more coming out with this design. I'll be reviewing the spedix f250 and Emax nighthawk 280 pro shortly...then hopefully the runner advanced. I have honestly only had experience with the runner 250 in the race realm but will be expanding models and experience with them and continue to share my pros and cons :)

Crash mine last week falling above 50m from the sky, PDB snapped & battery bend. After disassemble, thin layer of copper trace can be seen. For my advice, try not to crash too hard, PDB itself really fragile even it is protected from top plate.

I think it's a Corbon/fiberglass mix not sure. Honestly haven't had any 50mph crashes into anything to really test breaking point. Just the crashes in my review and some on my crash test video as well. N broken arms yet.

I found a review on the new walkera 250 Advanced with GPS that addressed this very issue. The Advance is true carbon fiber and the first version is fiberglass with a fake carbon fiber thin layer that looks like true carbon fiber. They claim that the older version is flexable and the Adv is rigid and more prone to break. IDK...I plan to get one or the other...for the price both are good entry level racer feames . thx again for the info.

its not a fluke . I bought the walkera runner 250 pro. the fpv did not work for me either. walkera support sucks. Do you know if you can replace the camera and hook it up in the same plug as stock camera.

Great review on the 250.. I have the same thing you have but my looks nothing like yours.... I don't have that long antennas. or the to straws that the antenna runs through on my RX 710. Antennae wires are cut short like really short.. but I'm having problems on distance range... Camera works great my fat sharks are perfect on it.. Did severe bad crash over concrete been three motors broke one arm. But the thing is you can't replace just one arm you got replaced all of the front in that I did not! Like somewhat of a bad design. If you break one arm left or right back or front you have to replace the whole arms.. Can't just replace one. And that sucks. The props don't even use them or you place them as soon as possible that's what I did I'm running the GEMFAN 6045 .. Other than that the flight is great no problems.. I am new to FPV racing. Not new to UAV I have the DJI inspire one and the Walkera scout x4... I'll be in Maui in November let's FLY if we meet up 👍🏻👍🏻😀

Get a cheap FPV toy quad first if you haven't done FPV yet. This could be dangerous around people if your new. Check out my FPV reviews. There are some good options for training before you step up to a real race quad.

The advanced version has GPS built in and they've improved on a few things but and made it look prettier but it's much more expensive.

Somehow when OSD hook-up and turned on, the stock lens must not cover with anything, video will gone crazy..... not idea why it happen....

only flew mine a couple of times ...went to my sisters house took it out the area was pretty built up flew nice for a bit lost control crashed I thought it was the signal of networks internet etc I flew it today after I got my blades onl;y went 20 feet away went side to side then nosed dived into ground totally lost connection so it will be going bk

+Soldier53flyer mine had some defective issues which Gearbest fixed by sending new components. I'm sure yours will be fine. Not sure but there are open ports you may be able to add GPS

You technically can but you'll have latency issues and the fpv cameras adjust to light quicker so you don't fly blind when moving from different lighting conditions.

It's not without issues. If you get one that's not defective and set it up right, I think it's ok to start with for an rtf for those that don't want to build.

Hi Viva, there is a video on KZbin that show's how to do the throttle hold where a switch will stop props no matter what throttle is at and that's what I've done. I still have to arm with stick bottom corner while throttle hold is on and then when I switch off TH it is ready to fly.

+Dustin Dunnill I did that already, but I can still disarm the drone while its flying. (like I accidentally did yesterday, fell 50 feet from the sky like a brick :( so is it possible to move the disarm and arm function to an unused switch?

Yikes, I think what solved that for me was also modifying the throttle trim so it's always at 6% throttle. When it's flying, no matter what I do it will not disarm until I flip the TH designated switch.
