It shouldn't be player cause Dusttale was caused by Chara. Player only is valid in undertale and even then Player=Frisk so they are the same person

Chara is nothing but a innocent soul being constantly blamed. AND not to mention but there is a pacifist ending in dusttale. SO ITS STILL THE PLAYER CHOOSING IF THEY WILL BE GENOCIDAL OR MERCIFUL. Only in some states you get controlled by chara.

In Canon-Dust, when Sans get killed by the human (again) in the last Corridor, he tells us in his dying breath, that he will change his order so we can't killsteal Undyne or any other monster. But as he try to come up with a new plan, he notice that he has no memory left of what happend in the ruins. And the memorys of Snowdin starts to fade aswell. He notice, that he loses the memory of what happen in this Reset, yet not the other ones before. With Regret, even Fear in his eyes, he asks us "How often did this already happen?", understanding that he is in a loop, far worse then the loop before.

Just something to say the player isn’t some random person the player is literally you a person from the real world like me and you also a little reminder the player actually kills murder at the end of the run but then the player can one delete murder memories or just let him keep so the players can get their rivals with murder which is the point of dusttale to sans it’s a fight for his freedom but for player it’s just an amusement bc the player can at any moment just delete dusttale or delete murder sans memories
