Dusty also demonstrates what a mind virus Christianity is. So emotionally attached to the story, that they can’t even process basic sentence structure. It’s akin to a friend that’s had too many drinks at the bar. They get angry and belligerent if you suggest that they stop. You are taking away their feel good feelings. This is no different. The SMART ones recognize their own cognitive dissonance so they expend huge amounts of time and energy and intellectual collateral constructing a house of cards they hope will confirm their irrational faith in magic. And it's not so they can convince others, it's them trying to convince THEMSELVES. And the really smart ones get into debates like this because they hope they'll be tested and prevail so they can go away and convince themselves that they were right all along. It's almost sad, except usually it's the smart ones, and they honestly should know better. I feel sad for the low-info sheep that makes up the bulk of the believers who help maintain this dangerous fiction.

I read that detectives book. It’s written for simple people. Uses a deduction argument, says we can’t explain stuff then says the resurrection must have been true cos the other limited options he provided can’t be true. He’s says a conspiracy is unlikely so the resurrection must have happened. Could easily say the resurrection is impossible so it must be a conspiracy.

So, for David of Waco in a few years if we find archeological evidence, will that prove he is the true messiah? 😮 I like how that works

22:11 or maybe, the gospel authors had read Isaiah and were trying to match their description of what Jesus went through in the passion narrative with what the nation of Israel went through when they left exile?

I really enjoy how your dialogue style. I appreciate those that can stay focused that way. I haven't that much patience any longer but it is needed for this type of work. Thank you for being longsuffering as needed without allowing endless pivots and dodging. It may wear on you one day, being so gracious. Kudos.

This reminds me of a verbal report I had to give in 11th grade. Honestly, I read the summarized notes (cliff notes). The teacher was asking me all kinds of questions about the book and I was totally blank and studering my answers as questions.

Prophecy is clearly stated as such and is specific and clear. It is not something that needs to be dug out with mental gymnastics and made up out of words that sort of sound like something. If that were true, then Nostradamus was the messiah.

Why in the world would people believe a book they have to do literal gymnastics to explain. This is supposed to be the most important book in the history of the world, and they can’t explain any of it! It’s crazy

@@chrishitch319 The word "literal" seems to have changed meaning in the parlance of one of the recent generations. Not sure if it's millennials or Gen Z, but the misuse of this word is a consistent part of their lexicon.

@MeSpawn29716 күн бұрын
@SaintD382 the use of literally in this way is WAY before even the oldest Millenials. And it's used ironically to convey hyperbole. So the "correct" use of the word aids in communicating the ridiculousness of the claim. But I'm sure everyone is aware of that since it's a common and ubiquitous colloquial usage. Cuz that's how language works.

Dusty seems like a decent person. Unfortunately, the bible and those that teach it have fucked up his critical thinking skills. He cannot focus on a single thing for more than 20 seconds, sometimes less. It's quite astounding...and sad to see. People in cults don't ever know they're in a cult until after they've gotten away from the cult. Christianity is merely a socially accepted cult. I hope Dusty looks back on this and sees just how chaotic his mind is under the influence of this religion.
