When it came to the criss cross part I struggled with if you skip the stitch after the back DC or if you do another DC then skip a stitch. I wish we could see the ending of each row closer as well. My hat is not coming out right but otherwise a good tutorial. I especially LOVED the magic circle technique, keeping that!!!

Hello MJ thank you for this adorable set I just found out that I'm gonna be a grandma again. So excited I'm gonna make this set and hope it's a girl as I already have a grandson, but I will be happy with either boy or girl. I love all your patterns. I own several.. I learn so much from you. I'm adding the back to front slip stitch . Thank you so much!

I would continue to increase the pattern going up about 5 sts per size. A small child around 65 sts, large child about 70 sts. Thank you, MJ

How important is it to do the front slip stitch in the front ? Can you do a normal slip stitch?
@ninjaturtle365 Жыл бұрын
Hello, when you join your rounds, do you work that first stitch in the same stitch? Or do you start on the next one over?

If I am using DK weight (australia), is it best to double the yarn and use 2 strands, or go up a hook size to 6? Thank

MJ just wondering how you decide on yarn to use.. is it by feel, color, or yarn weight?
@mjsoffthehook2 жыл бұрын
All of the above. This yarn has great colours and it's very soft. Plus worsted is a great go to for hats.

At this point in the tutorial my hat is still flat. What am I doing wrong?
@mjsoffthehook2 жыл бұрын
Once you stop decreasing the hat will naturally curve. If yours is not then you must be still increasing. You may also need to use a smaller hook.

I was able to follow you making the hat, but at times I had to pause and rewind to understand what it was you were doing. I'm guessing you don't realize how fast you crochet and when demonstrating you should really slow it down and remember not everyone is a pro at this. I managed to make the hat. Now the flower is another story. I'm lost. It was a nightmare trying to understand what was happening with the posts of the flower. I gave up. I'll have to find another video on flowers and finish it that which is disappointing. I don't know if anyone had problems keeping up with you, maybe it's just me idk.

Hey, sorry you found the video too fast. KZbin has a handy function that allows you to adjust the speed of videos. Click the gear icon (settings) and adjust the speed. I only do stitch tutorials in slow speed, so if you are unfamiliar with basic stitches make sure to learn those first. You may find my full tutorials too fast unless you use this function. Cheers :)

This is a beautiful hat but would agree at times it was difficult to tell what you were doing or which stitch you were at. I also had to rewind numerous times as well but was able to complete it. I'm sure the second time will be easier.

@@jodiforte5608same but I just slowed it down and zoomed in on the flower part. I loved, made the newborn one for practice but trying to figure out a toddler size now. Thank you MJ ❤
