It blows my mind you don't consistently get more views; always good stuff, and one of the best van life KZbinrs out there, IMO. You, Foresty Forest, and Ryan Twomey are the only three I watch with any real consistency.

A permit to enter the park, a permit to hike in the park, a permit to camp in the park, a permit to take videos in the park. What's next a permit to breathe in the park. Gotta love it. Land of the free as long as you get a permit.

@@dustyodyssey I’m thinking it would be nice if u could put out two videos per week…. Your conversational side is quite interesting… the views of landscaped type stuff is nice but your real skill is when you talk about anything man… especially the technical stuff within your builds. I think that knowledge you have with respect to this type of topic is sought after… so let’s see some more of your conversations Mr. Max … you’re a great fellow. I watch tons of KZbin van life videos but Max out Fun is my favourite…

If you haven't got an axe yet, grab a Fiskars. Yes, the scissors company. Their axes are made in Norway and while not ergonomic, will totally cover your needs while being light and fairly bombproof. Estwings are still forged in the USA and completely indestructible, but also heavy. Both cost around $50. DON'T by ANY MEANS listen to the snobs and overlanders who say you need a Gransfors Bruks or some other Swedish collectible, they're very nice but $400 is more than you need to spend- especially for an emergency tool!
@dustyodyssey Жыл бұрын
You are the second person to suggest a Fiskars. Seems, at the very least, very functional for the price. Thanks!
@escapetherace1943 Жыл бұрын
@@dustyodyssey don't get a fiskars, their potmetal axes suck and can't be re-handled. Lifetime warranty is good but if your handle breaks in the Alaskan bush? lol. Lmao. Support a US company like Council Tool, their axes are better, just as affordable and made for the US environment.

Fiskars is a Finnish company ;-)

@@escapetherace1943 Eh, for someone wanting to use an axe seriously I'd agree. For someone wanting an axe for emergencies- probably only be used few times ever- a straight-handled plastic job will do fine. Less maintenance, less weight, n00bs won't notice the lack of ergonomic sophistication, and it'll weigh less overall. Plus re-handling an axe in the bush is easier said than done- especially with a bear wandering around. And Finland is a far sight better than buying Chinese! If you really want indestructible plus "buy American," buy an Estwing and be done. That said, I'm curious... have you actually seen firsthand issues with Fiskars' metallurgy? And what do you even mean by the "US environment?" Video's from Alaska, it's the exact same environment as most of Finland.

I'm glad we got to see a smidgen of your adventures. Interesting ruling about filming in a NP. I understood Canada has laws like that too - places you can film, places you can't. Thanks for the update!

Hunting rifle or shotgun, yes if you declare it. Handguns no way and if you don't declare firearms at the border you will be arrested and loose the guns.

You can just post "found footage" of national parks that you definitely didn't film yourself; someone else with a permit filmed it and then lost their SD card on the trail.

I did have that thought, in all reality the odds of me being prosecuted are super small, to my knowledge only Kara and Nate have been fined by the NPS, but I'd still rather not take the risk.
