With the KZbin channel of Fire 24/7 we want to show people more about the fire department. Everyone can respond (ask questions, give tips, share tips, etc.) to the images they see. In this way we can learn informally. Formally we learn internally from the images or videos that have been made. The images that are shared here were recorded with GoPro cameras and then edited into one video.
We do our utmost to ensure the privacy of the care providers and victims involved. Relief workers who are visible have given permission for this. Victims or others involved are being watched. Unless otherwise agreed.
The blue thumb serves as a respect to those involved!
If you have questions or comments about our channel or about a video, you can contact us through info@fire247.nl
This channel and the images used were made with the approval of Fire Department Flevoland.

@rafalbuijs5061
@rafalbuijs5061 4 жыл бұрын
@TheCowgirlans
@TheCowgirlans 4 жыл бұрын
@TheCowgirlans
@TheCowgirlans 4 жыл бұрын
@Reg. Oper.

Aren't genetics a funny thing. I have never spoken Dutch in my life, yet the culture is 50% of my dna and it sounds as natural to me as listening to my native language, english. Maybe I should actually try and learn to speak it. Great videos btw, highly professional fire service.

Dutch Fire Fighters seem to be like British Fire Fighters.. As soon as your on scene some one is out deploying the High Pressure hose and within minuets is putting water / foam onto the fire..
@Biffo1262

Dave Blank. Make that seconds as a rule. Hose reels have one big advantage. They are already precharged and you pull off as much as you need making knock down times so much faster. Why most US fire companies don't or won't use them beats the hell out .of me
@michaelailer5623
@michaelailer5623 4 жыл бұрын
@@Biffo1262 OSHA and NFPA regulations. High Pressure hose reels went away in 1970s. I used them before from old apparatus sent to grass fires. I like them but those who write regulations say they are unsafe especially in Structure Fires. As far as foam, some have CAFS but environmental protection groups have had most foams banned because they are environmental hazards. There are new agents on the market but buy in has been slow for government spending reasons. USA is seen as land of the free and cowboys but there is a lot under the surface. So many contradictory rules, you violate one and you are open to civil and criminal charges. For $38 I can file a lawsuit on you for about anything and you have to defend yourself and we do not have "loser pays" laws here. You win great but you are out what you spent. You get sued because someone got hurt and whatever, the first thing that happens is all the rules and regulations from all levels are pulled and you will be grilled and how you not Following this rule or that led to the incident. I admire what I see from European brotherhood and we used to do somethings similar. I see some things in USA videos that I scratch my head about, but when I start applying the rules they have operate under I get it. Conflict of old traditions with new reality
@michaelailer5623
@michaelailer5623 4 жыл бұрын
@Reg. Oper. Team I have no intention of suing you, I meant that if you were operating on scene and something happened like an injury or illness you could be held liable. I believe you are right. Bureaucrats and lawyers who don't know which end the water comes out of are writing impossible rules. Most Alcohol Resistant Fire Fighting Foams have been banned, the same bureaucrat are saying the foam breaks down into a "forever molecule" contaminating water and soil. They have gone so far as having places that use foam the most to test the soil and they might have them do a soil abatement (dig it up, bag it and treat as asbestos) I am a big proponent of things like foam and UHP. There are new things like Novacool and F500 coming to market that have jumped through the regulations to meet standards. Try reading NFPA 1710 and 1720 on staffing and rules on foreground operations. I see how effective the European teams are, the tactics are spot on, letting science help not hurt to fire service. I would like to know more about one seven, is it foam or encapsulation agent? It works that's for sure. In certain areas of the country a mind set has developed, firefighter safety first, civilian safety next, and property last, I see some truly aggressive Department, Stocktom California and Newark Ohio come to mind and I see same things you see and go wow. Last thing I'll say is too many places see the Fire Department as a liability, it is first place they cut the budget, not an excuse but look up stations shutdown or closed completely because of budget and cost savings. It would be great if our bureaucrats realized what the fire service does and why it does it

@Reg. Oper. Team I agree there are more toxins to worry about than foam potential byproduct. USA uses high volume low pressure because of NFPA standards. From Federal level down fire department are rated on volume of water delivered. A Class A Engine has to pump a minimum of 1000 gallons per minute at 150 psi, carry minimum 500 gallons of water 1000 feet 3" (75mm) or bigger supply line and 400 feet 1.5 (35mm) or bigger attack line. The amount of lighting looks like overkill but those are visibility standards by NFPA because someone got into an accident with a responding apparatus because they "didn't see or hear them" (roll your eyes here) all the alphabet soup Regulators (NFPA, OSHA,ISO UL, etc) pushes our Fire Service into a certain tactical system. I see the effective use of UHP and one seven and all the advantages of it. I have dragged enough of low pressure hose through structures and pulled and repacked it to know. We have too many bearucrats writing rules to cover their butts and not protect the community. The newest push is Cancer Free Workplace. I am 100% for protection from cancer, I lost one of my mentors to LODD cancer, but to think we can make the environment we operate in 100% free of toxins and cancer causing elements in idiotic at best. THE BUILDING IS ON FIRE! (yelling at them not you) the pure science of combination is about off gassing, toxic byproduct and pyrolysis. Best way to eliminate toxins is put fire out, I know it shows simple but when a bunch of navel gazing desk jockeys start playing "what if" we end needing 14 firefighter on scene, 3 Engines, Ladder Truck, at least 2 attack lines plus back ups, Safety Officer, Commander and just about anything else you can think of to knockdown what European teams do with 1 apparatus 1 line and 4 man team. This is difference between European vs. American standards, European teams have apparatus design and tactics to handle greater than 95% of incidents and have plans for rest, American bureaucracy forces teams to prepare and act to the 1 in 100,000 incident and makes them second guess themselves and slow the response to the "routine " incident. Maybe your Senior Government Officials can come and talk sense into our Senior government Officials.

@rafalbuijs5061
@rafalbuijs5061 4 жыл бұрын
