I just bought one with essentially all the same specs. First owner had the fox and v&h pipes on, the leavers, even the blocky tires. I've only had it a few days but it's been great, the newest bike I've owned and its a world of difference from the vintage japanese bikes I've owned.

I just recently picked up a street scrambler.... It is literally one of the most fun bikes ever and it looks great. It rides similarly to the Ducati scrambler; handles great! I really need to get that exhaust!!!! (The stock exhaust is so choked and quiet.)

So you tried the ducati scrambler before you got the triumph? What convinced you to get the triumph?
@truthseeker-jwnightmares43516 жыл бұрын
They both had very similar handling. The "Street Scrambler" is much more nimble than the outgoing scrambler and it also has a lot of potential for power upgrades. Also I was going to the flat track races and a guy was winning on the scrambler... I fell in love with the sound and the look of it.
@ripmax3336 жыл бұрын
Truth Seeker thanks for your response , I’m between the two, ducati or triumph and many say that the scrambler has the edge because its lighter. Did the extra weight of the triumph bothered you?

@BikeShedMotoCo7 жыл бұрын
Mirrors are obviously recommended, but when I wear an open face helmet I feel safe without them, as you see a lot on every lifesaver, even right behind you, plus it encourages me to looks properly whenever I manoeuvre.

@BikeShedMotoCo6 жыл бұрын
There's no question the bike will feel very different and on paper there's much less power, but it all depends where and how you ride. These are great city bikes, but surprisingly agile on the twisties too. You may arrive at your destination later than before (maybe) but you won't be grinning any less, and you may even before the delivery of the characterful twin over the revvy triple.

I just started riding, have a 125 cafe racer, but love your work. Two questions. 1.For a town bike, why no mirrors. 2. How does the pillion (wife) cope with the exhaust.. I imagine it is a little hot at the end of a ride.
@BikeShedMotoCo6 жыл бұрын
Dutch is a seasoned biker and if you ride with him you'd struggle to find anyone who takes more lifesaver glances - he prefers the look of a classic racer for the road, mirrors spoil that. His wife tends to ride her own bike but when on the Scrambler she just keeps her leg out of the way, there's enough room.

Dutch gorgeous bike, would you have still bought the scrambler if you didn’t have to commute on it ? Would it still be a fun weekend bike or would you find it a bit under powered etc ?

Yes I would. It is a little under powered at the top end, but makes up for it in the low down grunt and midrange. Another 10bhp would tip the balance and I might not need another bike, but as it is, I am not disappointed.

The latest iteration of the Scrambler seems to have less ground clearance. Is that ever a problem off road? It looks really good though! 🏁
@BikeShedMotoCo6 жыл бұрын
I don't think it has less ground clearance, unless the internet says so (?). At the end of the day none of these Street Scramblers, are proper off-road bikes, but they make good green-laners and in the right hands you can even get a bit of lively front-wheel lift, but it's not a WR450. See Ross's video on his trip to Box Hill and note that you can opt to ride a Street Scrambler at Triumph's new Off-road centre in Wales - which makes a bold statement.

Bike Shed Motorcycle Club Yes, I believe the internet says so. Lol! Great response! 👍🏻

There's no proper testing here for an MOT, but if you're given a ticket there are noise restrictions to comply to - but I've never known anyone get a ticket - and while this pipe is quite loud, it's not obnoxious.

Nice! Did you remap the engine after you put the full exhaust on? And what size TKC80 did you put on the bike? Does the standard size fit (100/90-19 and 150/70-17)?
@BikeShedMotoCo7 жыл бұрын
Engine map works with this pipe as the lambda sensor can adapt to mild changes in the exhaust gases. Tyres are same sizes at the OEM Tourance tyres. Oversized width up front comes up with a lower profile. Need to keep the same rolling circumference to not upset the TC.

Man, your bike looks beautiful. All the mods you've done are tasty and accorded to the spirit of this motorcycle! I just have one question: how tall are you? I'm also thinking to buy this bike, but i'm afraid it's too small for me (I'm 1,85cm 80Kg) The old Scrambler was perfect for me, but the seat on this new model it's too low for my taste Have safe rides and enjoy your bike
@BikeShedMotoCo7 жыл бұрын
I'm 5'9" and 78kg. I've seen some guys over 6ft on this bike and it looks fine. It's quite a lot taller than the new street twin or T100, - and don't forget that any bike can be made taller. Did you google the seat hight and compare the new scrambler to your old one?
@jackalopehole7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your answer! There are not a big difference between the seat height of the bikes. The Street Scrambler seat height is 792mm and the Old Scrambler is 825mm but the difference seems bigger, in my opinion. I felt the old model much more solid and "old school". I know you can made the bike taller, but i'm a little bit disappointed about it. I personally think a Scrambler should be higher than a Bonneville (it's exactely the same seat height) and with a lot more of ground clearance. I'm not saying this bike should be an enduro motorcycle, but i was hoping in a more extreme characterization among the classic models. Maybe Triumph will release a more off-road oriented Scrambler, as Ducati done with their Desert Sled....that's only my hope, but i suppose a lot of people will be happy about it!

The new scrambler is so much better than the old it's worth looking to fork spacers and longer springs on the rear. Try Hagon for advice.

Does the shop u mentioned sell the short front mudguard & was it a bolt on replacement or customised to fit? Also does the mudguard affect the tyres? Thanks Mick Yorkshire.

Hi Mick. The mudguard comes from a website in Thailand. It's a straight fit using the existing bolts and brackets and doesn't foul the tyres. Not exactly high tech but there were no fit issues.

Around town they're just fine but pressing on in the twisties and you might prefer a bit more bite. Optional baffle removed. In theory it should run a bit lean, but seems fine with the V&H map. Lively response, torquey and sounds fruity too.
