The fact that is done and possible is (very) Dutch, but the occupants on those beer cycle's are 80% British, 10% other nationalities and 10% Dutch students, especially in their freshman year.

I had the same experience.. not as a student, but celebrating the 25th marriage anniversary of a family member in Lieren, near Apeldoorn. We just were a bunch of family members pedaling, chatting, having a drink while riding on a sunny summer day over rural farmland roads from farm to farm. Giving the neighbors a drink, a chat, inviting them for the barbecue later that day and on to the next farm. One of the most fun days in my life. But that was some 15 years ago.. never seen those "bier-fietsen" (beer-bicycles) anymore, they are all gone.

in Breda rijden ze regelmatig met bierfietsen

Ha, ha, a beer-bike, long time no see! Before the pandemic, they have been everywhere in Cologne, Germany, where I live. Now they are gone and I don't miss them. You can't imagine how loud this was. When you just heard them, but couldn't see them, because they were around a corner, you thought that a crowd of 5.000 people was marching in and ready to conquer. :))

Maybe the invention of the 'Bierfiets' is Dutch, but I definitely won't call it typically Dutch at all. (I think most Dutch people hate these things.)

Seems to be a fashion wave. Those were all-daily in Berlin for a while. But have disappeared again some years ago.

it's a beer-bike 😀! supposedly the combined strength of our neural networks and the slow speed ought to be enough to prevent accidents from happening.

You can apperantly rent one from partybike nl, but thats only in the netherlands, and 600 euros for 1,5 hours. sadly.

Nah they're Dutch. The 'alsjeblieft' at 1:04 gives it away. I think a Brit would have a hard time pronouncing that word.
