What about Herman van Veen, he is one of the last troubadours we have left, he writes everything himself and has a fantastic voice even now he’s old. music.kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZjIhoZmp6x3grc&si=hP1ITeG08dlXwEWd😊

Eddie van Halen is a guitarist, not a vocalist perse

Indeed, I noted that in the video. 😊

@@BetterTogether-UnIr1 I was a little surprised that you didn't mention Floor Jansen, Sharon den Adel or Simone Simons. I admit, they're best known in the (gothic) rock scene, but I'd have guessed they're better known that Hazes, Borsato or Jules de Corte.

@ My selection was rather random (like my taste in music), and since I only named four musicians, the list is by no means comprehensive. I am discovering so many other Dutch musicians thanks to the recommendations of viewers like you. 👍

Jesus Christ, André Hazes, René Froger is not exactly what most Dutch consider class music.

@@BetterTogether-UnIr1 Understand. Not that I deny such music to anyone. In my Haarlem years, as I was born there, the only Dutch child in a British family hahaha, I know Haarlem as no other. Including all bars. And last but not least, every beautiful woman then!

I did not know Jesus Christ sang as well😢. At the right time Hazes can be very moving, when you step over the bias there is a lot to discover. Eg I did not like Nick and Simon at all but bc of another tv program (also on youtube) i heard them sing Simon and Garfunkel. They made their own songs in that style, i am glad i got to know that. But then i was raised with ao de Zangeres zonder Naam, long before she sang songs like Mexico and became camp and these old songs i still like.
