her sense of humor is priceless:D and guys who think she should speak more slowly, I wanna say to you that yeah, she could do that, but why should she, since Dutch people speak like that, or even faster? That's how you learn to understand the way they speak, and that's how you can develop a proper intonation and pronunciation. Dutch USED to be taught in schools in South Africa... though not mandatory or optional as part of the general curriculum, it is still an optional tertiary language at certain schools and institutions. Afrikaans is very similar to Dutch and is actually an off-shoot of old, high-Dutch. As a result, Afrikaans speakers can thus generally understand the Dutch speakers (at least to some degree anyway) - but to us, it sounds like a whole lot of slurred slang with an "american" accent. it's quite odd.
