I remember when John shared this story with me in the early 1990's. I really needed to hear this today. Last Friday night I watched a movie called The List, which was very insightful. At one point, a minor character basically says this - both sides underestimate the power of prayer; demons know it and fight it, and Christians intellectually acknowledge it but don't utilize it. The state if this nation is in our mouth: let's speak to the tree of unbelief and command it to be removed! As we move in higher levels of this calling, we ask for an increased manifestation of signs and wonders, healings, and deliverances. We know earth’s greatest revival is now coming, and we know it will be infused with Your love and power. We ask for this release of Your life. We also ask for greater wisdom to disciple nations. Give us greater insight and revelation in this regard. Show us how to take the principles of your Kingdom and introduce them in a world where hate, deception, and sin rule. This will take great wisdom and revelation, but You said You would equip us to accomplish this task. After watching the beginning of season three of The Chosen over the weekend, I had a much deeper appreciation for the 12 disciples. When Jesus began telling them what He was sending them to do, they must have been somewhat overcome with the how of it all? They were just simple, and mostly uneducated men. Jesus was the One with all the power and authority, yet He was sending them to heal the sick, cast out demons, and raise the dead! And by the way…do not take any money or extra clothing when you go! What? How? Why? This is on the job training for sure! Jesus knew the prophecy ahead that He must fulfill, but they did not. Who was going to spread the gospel after He was gone if they were an unprepared and unworthy group of disciples that simply followed faithfully? Their following needed to be turned into living faith with power and authority. That is what created the Ekklesia, and we are called to be a part of it!
