Musical instruments are haram. Evidence: “Among my ummah there will certainly be people who permit zina, silk, alcohol and musical instruments…” (Narrated by al-Bukhari ta’liqan, no. 5590; narrated as mawsul by al-Tabarani and al-Bayhaqi. See al-Silsilah al-Sahihah by al-Albani, 91). Our prophet Muhammad PBUH has allowed women to use only one specific musical instrument which is call daff during Eid, weddings, and when one who has been away returns.

In this case music, it's practically everywhere. As long as you're true to Allah, pray daily, read the Qur'an e.t.c. It's like instead of admitting that lying is a sin and trying to get rid of lying, you're trying to justify by saying everybody lies so it's okay to lie from time to time. Just so you know, I used to sleep listening to music at night with earphones. Once you manage to stay away from music long enough, it becomes easy.

@@abidrahman2636 Firstly, no one is trying to deny that musical instruments are haram here. It's clearly stated in Sahih Al-Bukhari and the scholarly consensus states that music is haram. What @SquigglePigeon was trying to say is that no Muslim can be perfect, not as a means to justify sin, but to emphasize imperfection. "I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Had you not committed sins, Allah would have brought into existence a creation that would have committed sin (and Allah) would have forgiven them" (Sahih Muslim, Book 37, Hadith 6620); “All the sons of Adam are sinners, but the best of sinners are those who repent often" (Bulugh al-Maram, Book 16, Hadith 41). Secondly, yes it is okay to lie from time to time as long as it's not in your intention to lie due to your desires. We all make mistakes and the reaction shouldn't be to justify them, but to repent and change our ways.
