Awesome Story! FYI, OP's rank would have been LT, not Capt., His boss would have been Capt, not Col. and SEAL are sailors, not soldiers. SEALs are awesome people and I thought your should know. Navy ranks are different from the other military branches.

If he is a Seal he can’t be a captain. A captain in the Navy is the same as a colonel in the other branches. He wouldn’t be on missions. As a junior officer leading teams he’d be a lieutenant or lieutenant commander.

Dead on!! And no SEAL commander would tell a SEAL he was a “good soldier”, as that would be an insult to an USN service member. Author has no idea about military branches/ rank structure or the criminal justice system. More research definitely needed.

@@jaycom2429 but there is a difference between good stories and bad ones. a bad story would involve a judge looking at a soldier who served in afghanistan with disgust and telling him that his cheating wife has needs and he is a thug because he got upset by it.

Story OK, but author has no freaking how the civilian legal justice system in the US works! The first step after an arrest is an arraignment where OP would plead guilty or innocence. An assault case like this would take 6 months to 1 year at the least to come to trail.

For criminal cases they do probable cause to see if arrest was legal then if all is OK they set bail for serious crimes. Then they get ready for trial or to plea. Then sentences. For auto infraction you plead guilty or innocent. For felonies an indictment comes down you are arrested and then arraignment.

I dont know, this has more holes than swiss cheese. Seals cant be captain rank as far as Im aware. There was no guilty plea. MC gets 3 months for contempt of court and then what? The other charges go away? Trial was not concluded. No judge would ever say its ok to cheat on deployed soldiers, unless they want their career ended. She would be out of the job in an hour. During the final confrontation MC states that wife still has a priority when it comes to custody? She was caught with a bag full of meth and is out on bail, while breaking into someones house gun in hand. No sane person would give her custody. I still feel AI hand in this, at least at the core, and the author has the audacity to tie this sorry story to soupmaker?

There are still some holes in the story, but a few pointers. The trial for assault was supposed to start after the 90 day jail term, the case was never discussed later, yes that was a miss, the judge was on the payroll of the antagonist, mentioned in the later part of the story, during the final confrontation the mc was afraid that some other judge on the ap's payroll would wreck him. Yes, the military ranks were messed up.

The concept of the story is good but the delivery is bad, and there is a lot to unpack. 1. The story describe every moment with too much tension, describing jaw clenching etc is too much every 2 or 3 minutes describes someones every feature and movment of it. The next ones are the most inportant here. 2. This is the wrong branch of the military. Navy Seals are Sailors, or just Seals not soldiers. A navy Captain is O6, he would not be on missions, and is in charge of whole bases unless something super extreme happens. An Army Captain O3 would be on missions. 3. Spec Ops personnel are extremly valuable, Officer Spec ops personnel are even more valuable. The miltary would not allow what happened to this dude to happen, and would have stopped that corruption almost right away laslty another reason why dude couldnt ever be railroaded is his team. Seals operate in teams that are extremely close most time, if they found out this happened, they would do worse things to that guy than anything that could happen in prisson
