I can’t seem to find your video on Port Vila. Can you please point me in the right direction :) Thanks for the info on duty free :)

I holiday in Vanuatu every year and towards the end of my month or so holiday, I take a walk along the Northern end of the main street and check out all the duty free shops as the prices can change from store to store. Whilst Fung Kei has historically been the cheapest, the walk through about 500 meteres of stores is not that arduous and might save you a dollar or two ...

Noted. 😊 I’d love to stay at one of the South Pacific islands for a month or more. 💕

I just relax and enjoy the weather and the numerous activities and restaurants that Vila has to offer - first went there in 1970 before independence and have been about 45 times - my favourite Pacific Island group - I spent a decade on cruise ships and visited them all ...@@alandeb

I Love how knowledgeable you two are in these areas. Just a thought though I am going to Sunshine coast for a few days then off to Byron Bay the following week. I was wondering if you would be open to a Crastle Castle video the Shambala gardens are supposed to be Amazing.🎉 Your non local fans would Love it. Or a video on whales from light house in Byron could you imagine the drone footage 😊

We'll look into Crystal Castle and Shambala Gardens, thanks for the suggestion. I'm always up for a trip to Byron Bay! We'll see how Al is feeling after his operation. :)

Hi thank you for the video. What currency can we use in there? AU or USD? 😊

They accept both. We always take Aussie dollars and exchange it into IDR when we need it.

For many years Fung Kuei in Port Vila was the cheapest place to buy liquor. In the early days they had lots of interesting Chinese artefacts and other cool stuff. I used to love going there and watching first time visitors jaws drop as they saw the super low prices. (Giving them an idea of just how much tax Australians pay the Government for alcohol.) Maybe the next generation of the family took over the business but the place had a major makeover. Now it is very shiny and upmarket and all the old cool stuff has gone. And the prices have gone up accordingly. On my last two visits I found the cruise ship prices were lower. (Possibly the cruise ships decided to do some competitive marketing.)

Yes, we remember the original store too. That's interesting. For us, Port Vila was still a lot cheaper than the cruise prices but I'll definitely check again next time I cruise. :)

Our friends have put off a trip to Vietnam in favour of Vanuatu. It looks rather boring in comparison to Bali though. It would be nice if cruising but not sure about a land holiday at a resort. Fiji is expensive, is Vanuatu expensive too?

Vietnam and Vanuatu are so different - unless you are staying in a resort - then you could be at home in Queensland... lol. We found Vanuatu to be pretty cheap, especially for transport and duty free alcohol. Vanuatu is a beautiful island and the people are friendly. We toured around the whole island in 8 hours but would definitely love to stay a week and take our time going around. If you're looking for a cheap holiday - Vietnam is the place to go, plus it also has amazingly beautiful scenery.
