Using BIG LIVE BAIT off the Rocks with Balloons! // How to fish with balloons

This happened earlier in the summer this year. It consisted pretty much of 3 weeks of chaos. Fish were biting every where you fished. No one could make the wrong call, every where you went in the PE/ jbay area this time of year was a fish! This particular day was one of my favorites though as spinning off the rocks is something I don't get to do often! and well I have never experienced something as amazing as this!

Hi Mario, I used 80lb grinder dropzone braid. Then 20m leader. Which was 10m braid 180lb leader and then a 10m 300lb mono leader. Steel was 3m long and 591lb or 1.4mm thickness. Hope that helps?

What's the purpose of the balloons? Only to indicate that you have a fish on when it pops??? Is it only for non edibles??

No, you don't need an indicator when a shark that size takes your bait I promise you you'll know hahah. It has a number of purposes some of which include to keep your bait in the water colum u think will be most productive, to keep a track of the direction your line is going, and also to keep your line on the surface so the loose line doesn't catch a rock ledge whilst the fish is swimming. The balloons also help get the bait out into depper water by using the wind it assists the fishes swimming and helps it get out quicker
