We had to make the short flight to Duxford in the RV4 due to time restrictions. No Sunday take off at Nayland before 10am and the need to be on the ground at Duxford before 10.30am. Sorry about the jerky shots but not easy to film from the back seat of the RV4.
I am not a qualified flying instructor nor do I ever claim to be a very good pilot. I fly for fun and basically record for my own interest and review but upload because a number of people have asked me to. I do try to edit for enjoyment and story telling and this means that some content is not always included.
Music - 'You're No Help' and 'Airline' from the KZbin Sound Library
‘Last Post' was from Freesound by Benboncon but KZbin have said that there is a copyright claim on it by Dougie Reece?
Camera:
Go Pro Hero 3+ filming at 1080 wide @ 30fps
iPhone 6
The video was produced on Cyberlink Power Director 15

Very enjoyable Tim. Duxford is always going to be a winner, and very well filmed.

Nice to hear a controller who speaks clearly ! I think that RV probably has a good radio too. It would be interesting to hear what radio it is.

Another lovely trip. The Last Post was played beautifully and as always brought a little tear to my eyes. My family hate it when I point out glaring aircraft continuity errors. in movies. I was just about to joke about the RV taking off from Naylands & your Jodel landing back... nice edit.

I do have the RV ending as a saved clip which I use for these trips! :-)

Why have I not noticed that before. Doh! Sorry Tim. I’ll write 100 lines, “I must watch to the very end, every time...”!

Never mind the lines. I do appreciate your support and usually the first comment on my videos. Maybe my videos have been too long and your commute has ended before the film! 😀

Jodel Flyer nope, not that. Probably been distracted by an altercation on the road, or the bus, or had notification that the trains are screwed... all the usual joys of commuting.

I'm watching later than usual but this is part of my Friday routine so I'm always happy to watch. When I saw you leaving Nayland I thought "of course, John's RV is a lot faster so they will make it to Duxford in time". Aviation types certainly know how to do a silence too. I remember seeing Viscounts fliying over on the way to Cardiff International Airport in the 1970s, or just "Rhoose Airport" as we called it back then.

Thank you very much for making me part of your Friday routine, I really do appreciate the support in watching and commenting. For the record, my son did his PPL at St Athan

14th May 2020 - Unfortunately KZbin have said that there is a copyright claim against the short 'Last Post' I used as a tribute during the silence filmed in the Aerospace hangar. They have therefore muted that section of the video so the silence will now be just that!

Another great video Tim . It bought back many happy memories of my last time at Duxford , 7 year ago ! . It’s a long way from Sydney after all . Another tug on my homesick heartstrings , but lovely all the same . Cheers and many thanks for sharing .

Glad you enjoyed it. Not easy filming from the back of the RV but I did get some good shots on the way back which I will use at some point.

Very nice video, thank's. I built and flew my first 4 in 1994, sold it after 6 years and it lives in Toronto Canada now. The new owner is taking great care of it. I have gotten another kit and am currently building it. This will be my 5th RV build but this like the first is for me. I have flown all of the RV models but still love the 4 the most. My first kit is #1444, the kit I acquired is #68A. What is your kit number? How long was the build process for you? If you wish to see what I currently fly, type "Flying Carrot" in KZbin. Cheers!, would love to see more, wish they would have allowed you a flyby at Duxford.

The RV4 belongs to a friend of mine. It was built in 1987 by Rudisill TA and Petty John RG (according to the register) and had the registration N21RP (serial number 1270) it has a Lycoming O-360A. Due to Covid19 restrictions we are allowed to fly our own aircraft but it has to be solo or with someone from your own household. So it means we are only flying our own machines but doing quite o bit of loose formation stuff. Thanks for watching and leaving me the comment. It's always nice to get the response. I put out a weekly video and feedback makes the work more worthwhile. All the best Tim 👍🇬🇧
