Huadong Feng I agree... But I don't mind if they talk about forthcoming issues with the install that may SAVE us the headache or to suggest hacks with the install, but most of the time youtubers gets side tracked and talk about things that has nothing to do with the task at hand whatsoever and the video turns out boring and extremely long...

Dude AWESOME video! I have been dreading installing my unit but just finished it up a few minutes ago due to your video. The paper instructions are good but few things beat watching someone actually do it! I did refer to the manual for some details though. Thanks for taking time out to do this video and for not being the typical arrogant douche. Also, thanks for just getting to the point AND for fast forwarding the longer/tedious parts. I had a leak at first and thought I eff'ed up but realized I didn't push the line in far enough into the RO faucet. After fiddling with it and tightening connections, I pushed it in harder and NO more leak. I will be checking out your other videos and may subscribe. You get a thumbs up (like) from me. Thanks again

What about the point where you install the red tubing into the needle valve and you're supposed to hear a click, according to the instructions, and then slide the sleeve up to the valve connection, and tighten the compression nut? I'm not hearing a click, nor can I figure out what that means, and the tube just keeps sliding out... Do I have to have the valve open? Closed? A sweet spot?

This has helped so much. Quick question.... how does the system know when to stop feeding water? Once the tank is filled, it would seem that any further water trying to push through the membrane would not be able to and thus the water would just keep running through the waste line.
@dvbdvbdvb Жыл бұрын
It has no mechanical or electronic switching parts, it's all based on pressure, if the tank is empty then the pressure differential will favor the system filling out the tank, once filled it will pressure equalize and will stop since there is no pressure differential. In other words: once tank is filled it will stop.

PLEASE HELP-----I just learned that i need to replace the Membrane and the 5th stage carbon filter on my RO system. my questions ARE: 1. will any standard membrane fit my RO system {AQUASKY ROT-4}? 2. my 5th stage carbone model is = CL10R0 T33, can i use any replacement with this model number? 3. My ASO {automatic shutt off valve} also needs replacing, can i use any standard ASO from EBAY with 1/4'' fitting- same fitting as mine? I contacted Home Depot, i was told i must get one from the manufacture for my RO system {AQUASKY ROT-4}. is this true? Thank you for your help in advance.

Thanks for your video my friend! Just installed my filter so my pregnant wife (and soon my son) could have clean water that doesn't come from a plastic water bottle. If not for your video I would not have even bought the thing! Much appreciated! Quick question: did you use a 1/4" drill bit for the waste line as the manual instructs? You showed us the 1/4" bit before you began the saddle installation but then it looks like you used more than one drill bit to make that hole. Thanks again! God bless!

Wait this system will waste 3-4 gallon of water per clean gallon? Can you switch back to the normal water for dish washing?
@dvbdvbdvb7 жыл бұрын
You need to install a new faucet, in parallel to the existing one, so for dish washing you use the normal faucet you have been using so far and only for drinking water you use the new faucet. Keep in mind this system is NOT a whole house water filter, it is intended only for drinking water. You can redirect the waste water for watering your plants.
@hahahanvm7 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the tips. Will ask my folk about this idea of using it to water plants.
@sailingbrewer7 жыл бұрын
The dishwasher only uses hot water so the filter wouldn't be used. But I the age of drought why on earth would you install a filter that waste 3-4 times the amount of water you use.
@markbaker84007 жыл бұрын
Your video was excellent and helpful. Two hour install. I'm guessing that takes 3-4 hours to get initial first water. You simply showed you dumping the water load but it took hours to let it filter the water first? Thanks man.

@sixtorelucio68282 жыл бұрын
I don’t understand why need a tank for, why just the filter? When the faucet is off it should be just stop running from the source.
@dvbdvbdvb2 жыл бұрын
the filter works on pressure differential, without the tank you would also get a low stream that would take a few minutes to fill a glass of water, the tank provides a buffer and holding tank, total processing rate per day is 50 gallons, with the tank you can get over 1 gallon within a minute, then it takes some time to fill back the tank

thank you very much it was very helpful
@rchavez50563 жыл бұрын
Are the filters for the system expensive and how often do you change them?
@dvbdvbdvb3 жыл бұрын
Stages 1-2-3 are something like 20-30 bucks, the company recommends changing them every year or so, I usually stretch it some. Stages 4-5 once every 5 years I think. They sell all the filters for 60-70 bucks. You can probably find them cheaper, honestly, I have not done my homework and usually buy them online to the first one that shows up.
@rchavez50563 жыл бұрын
@@dvbdvbdvb I may consider buying this set up.
@accaciaasher14973 жыл бұрын
What sizes were the drill bits you used?
@dvbdvbdvb3 жыл бұрын
not sure, I was increasing the size until you get to the manufacturers recommended one, sizes are not that important as long as you drill a pilot hole and start increasing it. You can always drill directly with the final one but I had dull bits, even for PVC, so that was not really an option for me, also you can reduce the bit walking off by doing a pilot first, the smalles bit you have will work.

Thanks so much for posting this! What did you use to spray on the sink and drill bit to keep them cool while you were drilling?
@dvbdvbdvb8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I was using WD40, but it would be better if you use 3 in one oil. Drill at a low speed, wear eye protection and lubricate the bit using any oil if you cannot find WD40 or 3 in one or similar lubricants. Let me know if I can help you further down the road, good luck, stay safe
@Noeman20098 жыл бұрын
The sink is thin, I think its thickness is less than 0.7 mm. Heat generated from drilling process can be 'ignored', it won't affect the drilled hole precision and drill bit sharpness. If you can't find a coolant, water is adequate. Just my 2 cents.
@dvbdvbdvb8 жыл бұрын
You are probably correct, but it is good measure always to use something to cool the bit always when cutting metal. If not you risk burning the bit and it becomes a brittle hazard as it can shatter easily hence the eye protection.
