DVC Booking Window and Resale Restrictions Explained

What questions do you have about booking windows or resale restrictions? Do you think that this has become TOO confusing?

If I understand correctly, if I purchase a resale contract today at say SSR, Beach Club or Grand Floridian, I can only book at those, my home resort, at the 7 month window and not an 11 month window. Is that correct?

@@michaelboutililer4880 You can always book at your HOME resort at the 11 month mark. Other resorts (except those with resale restrictions - so far Riviera and Disneyland Hotel) you can book at 7 months.

GREAT video! When I describe DVC to someone new I start with the easy description but this covers all of the "but..." scenarios and lays them out very clearly. So my first offer on a resale contract was January 2019 and it was taken. I missed the cutoff by days. Definitely regret not buying resale sooner.

Been trying to find out if DVC points for a legacy resort (direct) can be used at an international Disney resort (like Disney Paris) I remember seeing a points amount for Paris, but cannot seem to find anyone talking about this. Can you clarify this for those of us looking to possibly make plans like that.

Yes, you can use them at the international Disney resorts, but it's generally a better deal to rent out your points, then use the proceeds to book the hotel separately.

If a contract has a December use year, and has 23|24|25 points showing as 75|150|150, when would those 2023 points need to be used by? When can the 2025 points start being used? The use year, bank/borrow thing still confuses me

I bought 50 points at the villas at Disneyland. After this video... I cancelled my purchase. I am afraid it will not hold its value like DCA.

I'm sorry to hear that you had regrets about your purchase. A small contract like the 50 point contract you had will always retain a higher value than larger contracts. Small contracts have a history of selling for higher prices on the resale market. But ultimately if you don't feel comfortable with the purchase, you have to do what feels right for you.

Hey guys I have a question regarding resale and direct purchases , if you have both and book on a resale contract can you still use your direct benefits?

Good question! Yes, you can still use your direct benefits. For example, you could book a stay on resale points, but still access the Epcot DVC lounge or get a discount.

Quick question, if I purchase today a re sale DVC from Animal Kingdom Lodge can I stay at the legacy resorts?

Yes, you would be able to use it on all of the DVC resorts EXCEPT Riviera, Disneyland Hotel, and any new future resorts.
