Hi Jacqueline--I just found this! Guess I missed it two weeks ago. Didn't know you bought a reservation. Great luck that it worked with your dates. Interesting to hear the process. I have rented out some Riv points I wasn't going to use, but I've never rented a reservation myself. I think you got a good deal. Experiences are important.

I just did a custom rental for a beach trip to HHI next summer. We wanted two x 2 bedroom villa so instead of waiting for 7 month window i went ahead a rented from a company. It worked out well and happened in a single day. For HHI i paid $21 a point with a deposit $100 and initial pymt $400 was paid by CC (for each villa)

Ooohh yeah if you want two 2 bedrooms definitely best to just snatch it up as soon as you can! Very smart. That sounds so fun - and youre so nice for hosting your family like this (seemingly frequently!). $21 a point at 7 months isn't bad at all!

Thanks! And no, I haven't. I get asked to make a video on this all the time and I'd love to except I've never done it hahah. My first contract I bought with the notion of banking/borrowing for every 2 year trips, so it's smaller on purpose (which also means smaller dues). But because of that, I mean, I just always use all of my points hahah

I totally get it. It’s hard to think about renting points when I always seem to find a way to use them all! Thanks to your detailed resale videos, it helped me when I was going through the process of buying my first DVC contract back in 2022. If you ever make a video on renting points, I look forward to learning more about the process :)
