I had honestly forgotten about the DVC lounge going into SSE so thanks for the reminder! If it's in the old Siemens lounge it'll be fun to look at the view into Epcot from a before/after perspective since so much has changed (I'd never been in that lounge but I've seen video of it). We loved Muppets Mayhem so really looking forward to the changes to RRC. Enjoy your much needed break and happy holidays! We're a Hanukkah/Christmas family too!

Thanks for the updates, Jacqueline. I'm really excited about the RRSA retheming. It's time. Do those guys even look like that anymore? It's a little trippy to have people playing themselves on a video and having it be the same thing for decades. Great news about the Test Track reboot too. Two great rides that need some care. I can attest to the straightening of the Eiffel Tower. The Epcot scene is new too. It's a nice attention to detail. I left some thoughts about my trip on your last video or the one before. I know you sometimes don't get alerts, but please take a look if you wish. I canceled my April trip. Airfares are really high for spring break and the parks are really crowded. With retirement coming up, I don't feel a need to go to Florida every chance I get. I'll be there full time pretty soon! So my next trip is another family trip in August. A nice two-bedroom at Riv awaits us! We're thinking of doing the Treehouse Villas summer of 2026. I suspect the Treehouse Villas are going to get significant reconsideration as the WL area offers more and more outdoorsy accommodations and becomes something of a wilderness campus. I think the Treehouse Villas will find a solid customer base of people who want something more private than WL or the upcoming LL, and want better than the FW cabins but can't afford the CC cabins. It is interesting that there will soon be a choice of seven Great Outdoors/camping options at WDW: CC, BR, CC cabins, FW cabins, LL, the FW campsite and the Treehouse Villas. Video idea--compare them! Thanks, Jacqueline! Hope things are good!

I am visiting WDW this week and have booked Beach Club 1 night and WL for 5 nights. I was eligible to purchase Premier 7 days before my first night at Beach Club. Not sure if that's what u were asking, but I got a notice saying I was eligible 7 days before my first night at a deluxe hotel. I would imagine if I was staying at a moderate or value, then that would not be the same. So, I'd stay at the deluxe hotel first. That makes u eligible sooner. Just guessing.
@PixieDustPhD3 күн бұрын
Hey! thanks for the info--very kind of you to share! Good to know your contiguous on-site stay counted and your eligibility window did not reset with your WL stay. And just fyi for your future trips, in case you don't always stay deluxe, they recently expanded eligibility so anyone staying on-site can buy LLPP! (But I mean, who knows what the future holds honestly lol things can change so quickly)

Lakeshore and Lakeside mean the same thing, but I'm guessing they thought Lakeshore sounded more upscale. I'm glad they're building the tower. I think it'll give some presence and connection to the FW cabins, and make the whole Wilderness Lodge area seem less out of the way. My December 2024 trip was full of great new experiences. So, my final word on SSR. Was it good? Well, yes and...basically yes. I really enjoyed my two resort days there. Walking to DS was easy and a very nice way to enjoy the best dining and shopping. The rooms were beautiful (maybe could use a bit more color and artwork,) the pools were top notch and the Carriage House was very pretty. I absolutely loved the bike rental! So great to get out and move along the paths around the resort, the Treehouse Villas and the bridges to OKW. But by the end of my second day, I had grown tired of seeing the same green building everywhere and yes, it absolutely begins to feel like you're at a nice but ordinary condo complex after a while. It's hard to make a case that it's a particularly unique place, even if it's enjoyable. I think it'll be a go to for a few resort days focused on DS dining, pools and bike riding, and then a split stay to get into the Disney vibe. So my last night was an add on because I'd found one day available at Boulder ridge, and I'd never stayed there. Wow! What a beautiful place and what a great room reno. I really hope they go in this direction for the AKV reno. The colors and artwork were beautiful. And I got an unexpected upgrade to a one-bedroom! Just a little sad to get pixie dusted like this for one night and when I was alone, but never a complaint from me! Except for the transportation. I think WL is the worst for transportation. The boat to MK takes a long time and their busses, even for the half mile trip to MK, are really slow. This has been the case both times I've stayed there and every time I've done park breaks there. Thanks, Jacqueline! Hope your month is going well!

This is such a great update on many DVC news bits, and I'm new to annual passes; never purchased, but it's good to know I can use DVC points towards this. Also, eager to learn more about Lakeshore Lodge too! Thank you, Jacqueline!
@PixieDustPhD8 күн бұрын
I've never purchased an AP either, but personally I don't think I would spend my points on it. 75 direct DVC points for a uh ~$1150-ish AP values the points at roughly $15/point. That's not awful, but I mean DVC itself sells the one time use points for $20 per point... so... definitely the AP conversion rate definitely undervalues them imo. That being said, I also only have 150 direct points to spend, so I certainly would not throw half of them to an AP I could just put on a credit card and call it a day. But if I had, I don't know, 300+ points I might be singing a different tune! No judgement from me, just adding some layers of perspective to the convo :)
@peteygbklyn2 күн бұрын
@@PixieDustPhD ahh and totally agreed and thanks for the further details on the DVC to AP pricing! - I won't go there, ha, as it does take a big bite away from DVC points that could be much better used for a resort, cruise, etc IMHO.

Hi - thanks for those kinds words and I'm glad this helped! I basically started my channel because I was very annoyed by all the folks who take 45+ minutes to cover topics I felt could be covered in 10-15 minutes if they just cut the fluff and spoke at an efficient pace. So I actually purposefully go this fast--it's part of the channel mission/ethos. But! I do update all the captions, and I find reading along is super helpful for comprehension, so if you also learn better that way you could turn captions on. Also you can adjust the playback speed via your KZbin settings if that's helpful. Thanks again!

Oh for sure, if you were already going to buy a single entitlement memory maker at WDW this just makes sense period. A lot of people who buy the AP via DVC though also buy the memory maker add-on, so a perk for some but not for all! Overall, such a strangely constructed bonus program in many regards haha
@paul1645113 күн бұрын
@PixieDustPhD I can understand but as a west coast resident who only owns enough points to go to DW 5-6 days a year, and no need for the extra discount perk (since just being a DVC member gives you all the same discounts), as well as no need to park a car, the AP isn't worth it for me (you need to go at least 10 days to recoup cost without the extra factors). This, however definitely is, since I always want Photopass.

Totally agree with you on the household rule for max 8 tix. Would love to host friends & family with discounted tix even if they live elsewhere. We’d all be traveling from other states so 10% off tix would be nice. Not every adult child or grandchild or grandparent live in the same house as the members. PLUS 5-day tix on weekdays only is not flexible enough. Some only need 2 or 3 or 4 days park access. And people usually need the weekends to help w/ time off. 10% off 5-days is still more than full price for 3-days. Hence not a perk at all for some.
@PixieDustPhD14 күн бұрын
Yeah the ticket deals just feel SO constrained. There's the household rule, the this exact number of days, the weekdays only, at WDW it's a pretty short use window too... and then yeah I saw the prices drop and the WDW discount was sssaaaadddd lol. I mean better than nothing if it works for you, but to your point not gonna work for all travel plans (maybe most travel plans? It's just so restrictive)!

Glad to see you both enjoyed the food. I’ve been wary of trying 50s Prime Time because of the interactions but it’s nice to know there is the low key option. I would not consider corn to be a substantial vegetable 😅 Is the food better than Sci-fi Dine-In Theater in your opinion?
@PixieDustPhD14 күн бұрын
Yeah you can definitely like straight up ask for them not to do the whole schtick! I have friends who have successfully done this and they said it wasn't weird lol. But yeah "corn" as a veggie is hilarious. Compared to Sci-Fi that's so hard... mostly because I don't actually eat burgers (I know, I know, I'm a very strange eater) so I feel like I haven't had like "the featured thing" at Sci-Fi? I personally prefer 50's prime time, but I mean I don't know that deep fried cheese puck has a choke hold on me LOL

Glad they’re offering discounted tickets but I wish it was 3+ days. Our sweet spot at DLR is 4 days and longer at WDW. I’m also disappointed about the household rule. We have a trip next year with my mother and would love to get her ticket at a discount too.
@PixieDustPhD14 күн бұрын
Oof yeah I saw the ticket discounts/details were released and ehhhh yeah the lack of flexibility is rough. If I want a 4 day ticket at Disneyland, better off buying that then doing a 3 day through this "perk" and a single 1 day ticket, which is frustrating for sure. And yeah I think I'll probably forever gripe about the household rule. Just feels so unnecessary. It's not an annual pass, it's a single ticket!

I've been wary about this place for years so I've never gone. I don't understand restaurants where servers perform in character as they do their job. I never know what I'm supposed to do. Am I supposed to laugh like I'm watching a show, or am I supposed to play along to provide context? I don't want to make things uncomfortable for the server, but I don't want to mess up my role either. What am I supposed to do? I am definitely too much of an introvert for this place. I'll stick with the fried chicken at Olivia's.

I generally think that multilane/genie+ is somewhat of an improvement over fastpass+. Very unpopular opinion, I know, but I find that now regular lines are generally (and more frequently) shorter, and I don’t have to stalk the system for days to get a Seven Dwarves or Flight of Passage fastpass… You were already priced out of it if you were not staying at a Disney resort, but now everyone gets the chance to do those upgrades if they want… At the same time, I am scared that this new system might replace MLL. I think it’s a great compromise of cost and accessibility to the perk. I honestly get incredibly frustrated when I go to Universal and choose to shell out that hefty extra cash to get Express, and it always taints my visit in a certain way. I don’t want this to happen at Disney, but MLL seems like a good compromise that always makes me happy when I choose it. I think that for me to buy LLPP, I would want to be able to be used in all four parks. When I look at just one park, it’s like you said, is the cost of price per ride worth it? I don’t see it for myself, but well, my sisters do think it’s worth it when we break down like that 😂
