It's always amazing to hear that Pete's been covering this for almost as long as I've been alive. He's an inspiration!

After watching these podcasts for a very long time we finally rented points from the fore mentioned rental store last February and stayed at Jambo house for a week. We absolutely fell in love with the resort and we have a second trip coming up in January with our grandkids. We are not quite ready to purchase yet but have rented another week of points. I tried to encourage the wife to maybe try another resort like boardwalk but she shot that idea down quickly. The first time we rented a standard view but it was one of those standards that really are savanna view. This time my wife said rent the savanna view and take no chances.

Staying at AK over Christmas and New Years, it is one of my home resorts. I have enjoyed every stay here. It is Art, the entire resort is Art. The Breakfast Buffet is AMAZING, be prepared to try foods you never have before. I am looking forward to going Home for the Holidays.

Staying for first time in early Feb. Hoping our Savannah room is worth it for those 3 nights.

hope is not a plan …… find a site that tracks the different room views and request a specific room.

It really is, but make sure you take your time and enjoy your balcony. We brought our breakfast back to the room from the Mara and ate on the balcony every morning. Even on park days, we slow rolled the morning to enjoy the balcony view. Any time we were “in the room” we were on the balcony.

It is 100 percent worth it!!!! Be sure to take the time to bring a cup of coffee to your balcony and just take it in.

Thank you for the conversation about my favorite resort. I've stayed at several resorts, but I keep coming back to Jambo House. This is where I will stay when I return to celebrate Chapek's firing.

We stayed at a three bedroom villa at the main lodge and it was so ruin down. The cast member said they have been updated rooms but have not done this one yet. I guess it was just bad timing.

Kidani has some long hallways if you get a room towards the end. Which means long walk to busses and back at the end of the day.

animal kingdom lodge is a destination like Amy said. Ever since i was a kid, my parents and I always took a day to visit the resorts. AKL is a copycat of Wilderness Lodge (a bit) but is epic. Good food. Beautiful lobby. Fun shop.

I chose AKL as my home resort and love it. I really enjoyed Kidani, the pool and splash pad area is awesome. It was especially fun for my wheelchair dependent guest who especially loved the splash pad!!!!! It's a great choice if you're travelling with kids or just adults.

Kidani Village is a Home Resort for us. We Love the atmosphere (and the Parking) BUT We just stayed there Nov. 4th and 5th and the Pool Bar at Kidani is GARBAGE! We sat at the bar and there were like 6 cast members working, one said to us "Are you ordering drinks? because I take care of food only" I said well send someone over to take our drink order, CM replied "You'll have to move to there side" WHAT?! I got up, walked to the other side and said we are seated on that side can you take our drink order, 2nd CM came over to where we were. Then I asked about food options, Chips, Hot Dogs or Pretzels. I ordered 2 pretzels (Mickey no longer available) and Drink CM told Food CM the order (RIDICULOUS!!) Then the pretzels were taken out of the spinning warmer, sprayed with water and salt applied and pretzels were stale. I'm thinking to myself am I in the Twilight Zone? That outdoor Service is an Absolute Farce. Beautiful Resort, horrible Pool Side Bar / Snack Service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #NOMOREMAGIC

Positives to 1bdrm kidani. view was great, food is awsome, service is good and customer service are very nice and professional they also check bed bugs before we arrived. negatives room was not dusted or carpet was not vacuumed around the couch even the carpet was dirty. even though they check for bed bugs i find one dead one burried in the pull out bed sheet. pull out bed is uncomfortable but i think that is pretty standard. the bench is to high for the table my legs touch the bottom of the table. the jet tub when i ran it some dirt and grim and whatever other things floated around you can see it clearly when drained cause stick to side. last the pool don't know if it was suppose to heated but when i went it was not i was freezing while in the pool. still even with these negatives still enjoyed staying there.

Funny story, one year when my kids were young we went out to use the night vision goggles to see the animals. I’ve always joked calling giraffes “ji raffs” like bugs bunny. I did this telling my kids what I saw through the goggles, the guide (cm) said “ it’s pronounced giraffe”, we all got a chuckle out of that cause my kids knew what I was mimicking.😂 Sadly, we never ate there because kids were picky back then.
