Motivated by $$. He talked so poorly of Bruce Lee after he died, it was very disappointing. Same with Chuck Norris and Bob Wall.

I paid $15 to attend one of his seminars in 1982 or ‘83. He was about to turn 40 and was planning a comeback. We were all college students with severs pretty athletic black belts among us. None of us could touch him. He was very nice, would not hurt anyone, but he got me to do a couple of drills with him and it was scary.

Everything sounded great until he said they never actually sparred. Believe what you want I'd never buy that bs. Any one who's done even a little study on Bruce knows he was all about sparring. He used to say a martial artists that doesn't spar is like a swimmer training on land without getting into the water. And I know exactly why he and Chuck will never admit they sparred him. Jim Kelly said it best "he was untouchable". These men have an ego problem. Period

Well, obviously, it's written all over his body and expression. He was not like water. But he did said that Bruce caught him, he said with a smile in his face that he got caught by a couple of JKD punches. But he never really down play Bruce,.

Exactly. I mean, Bruce even introduced full contact sparring gear so that fighters can spar almost full throttle.

Wow ...never saw this before. This puts to rest a lot of crap written about Bruce Lee. Joe Lewis was a heavy weight fighter and I don't think he would waste his time with merely an "actor" that couldn't hold his own. Joe has a rye sense of humour if you pick up on it which I don't think most people do. Funny guy!!!

Gives respect to Bruce then says JKD has inconsistencies and Bruce started copying his stance. Denies sparring Bruce but in later years says he was popped a few times by Bruce. I still like parts of the video but I personally believe Joe used Bruce lees name for more profits.

JKD wasn't complete,as Bruce was always researching and updating his personal style. Dan Inosanto said he was getting updates monthly and sometimes more.
@axelstone3131 Жыл бұрын
@@heartfanjim01not by the 70’s. Tell me, what do you think is “incomplete” about JKD? It’s not about adding. It’s not about going from style to style. It’s about going from distance to target. Bruce went beyond styles.

@@heartfanjim01Doesn't mean Joe wasn't lying. Many attested to Bruce sparring. And if they didn't spar, why would Joe be convinced that the techniques worked?
@heartfanjim0115 күн бұрын
@axelstone3131 Dan Inosanto said it was constantly changing and evolving. Bruce would realize something wasn't the way anymore and changed. Dan had flown to HK to visit and get updated. While there he filmed the Pagoda scene for GOD. JKD is evolving and constantly bettering yourself.

This fight has point stop based karate written all over it, both guys very robotic and NOT fluid moving at all, stood still waiting for eachother to make a move. other than dance around the ring kickboxing is the same flowing temperament as boxing. this so obviously was the first ever kickboxing match. it lacked what we call today fundamental kickboxing skills.
