Recently just started working on my own cars I got the confidence from watching a lot of your videos( 350z and 335i TT Bmw). I have to agree with you on that one. I have a lowered 2008 impreza(naturally asperated). its nothing special at all but im really into his detailing videos. He's given me the confidence to buff and ceramic coat my car. I've had my car for about a year and a half and haven't had to take it to a shop yet. (This is my first car)

100% man it’s very difficult to get comfortable working on your own car especially if your a perfectionist or it’s your first time. I just got my own car and started working on it by myself. There’s so many stuff I want to do to it but I’m just so scared I’ll mess something up. I’m clumsy so I overthink whenever I’m done, I’ll wonder if I tighten the bolt enough or will it fall of when I’m driving. But slowly it’s getting better. Time and practice is your best friends

The mesh for the grille is called expanded metal. you can get it from any metal supplier. You can even find a version of it at Home Depot and Lowes.

Hey Devin! That mesh is called “expanded metal lath”. This one looks like it’s coated with something black but it’s normally used for stucco application. You should be able to find it in most hardware stores. Love your content, my dude. Keep it up 👌

Devin, I’ve been using “black honeycomb mesh abs plastic” which I definitely believe is similar to what you ordered, and recommend if you’re planning to do DIY. Hope that helps! That’s what I used to facelift my Peugeot 308 S.

Go to Lowe's in the lumber department they have sheets of mesh it bare aluminum but you can paint it.

I think tint is a little to dark, also looking at oem spoiler on sti thought it would look good with just the centre mounts and disconnect it from the oem trunk mount. I know it wouldn’t hold it but would like to see it. Keep up the awesome content

Look up metal mesh lath for your grills that's the closest I can find that looks similar to what you put on the sti... Hope this helps p.s you might have to paint or powder coat it tho

Devin there is an Exact same mesh grille (I know because I bought one and made grilles for my subie) that came on MG ZT and ZR's 😁😁 the lower grille Doubt it will help but it's an easy cheap source if you can find any

Just fyi be careful of galvanic corrosion. Most metals when in contact with carbon will cause advanced rusting in the metal. It is due to the difference in electronegativity between the components so try to isolate any metal (other than inert metal like titanium) from the carbon when putting the wing back together. I assume that's why you saw so much adhesive and sealant when taking it apart. Best of luck man!
