Well it's not so free you need a computer or cellphone, internet subscription, watch ads on youtube. It was always free to learn by yourself, you could borrow an engine building book at the local library for free. Thing is it was way longer to learn by reading, now with technology we can learn so much faster with videos and we can get support online by talking to knowledgable people.

Golden Point - A camshaft and a crankshaft have to be connected by belt drives for smooth frictionless movement and not chain dtives which cause slippages, easy breakdown , uneven movement, uneven valve opening, incomplete burning and exhaust of gases and so a completely inefficient engine likely to cause accidents and breakdowns
@thatredgt49083 жыл бұрын
I’m seeing this 2 years later from when posted and I’m so glad I found a very clean 08 lancer DE. this video is gonna make the engine maintenance/over haul very easy I’m tempted to buy a used engine and completely go off of his parts list and specs and want to make the same amount of power out of a base model lancer. if this is the motor he put in his camo evo X, then this engine made 703 hp witch is mind boggling but for now I gotta see if this rod knock engine is completely toasted or salvage-able for another 6 months to a year work horse engine till I get the funds up for a build. it’s crazy how sponsorships and every follower helps so much I wish he could be able to read this and give me some pointers or just chat with me but none the less this was an amazing video!
@emmanuelrajah96886 ай бұрын
Golden Point - The engine works best on the least friction and so a good lubricant should be used when assembling all the engine parts ie bearing, camshaft, crankshaft, pistons etc and the best lubricant is oil and so lots of oil has to be used to lubricate all the parts before assembling any engine and not a miserly inefficient lube or paste which will cause huge frictions and early breakdown of the engine and he used lube and not oil

Ok so by watching the full length of this video. I realized that the there isn't any seperate Spark Plug Oil Well Gaskets/Sealer for the Spark Plug Holes (usually located underneath the Cylinder Head Assembly) or on a seperate Rocker Arm assembly as is with alot of older SOHC models of 90s vehicles. The entire Valve Cover itself has the Valve Cover Gasket that performs both functions (both seals the Valve Cover to the Cylnder Head Assembly and seals the Oil Spark Plug Wells)...thank you so so much for making this video and helping me better understand the intracacies of my 4B12. now I don't have to ask EricTheCarGuy if my Engine Platform has Gaskets/Spark Plugs for my Spark Plug Oil Wells 🙇♂️

Golden Point - The correct way to torque any engine is to torque the centre and go outwards ie torque the inside and then the beside bolts and then the beside bolts etc as this causes smoothening of the gasket and will cause the least losses by escaping gases

For your piston rings they make a tool that makes it level. Not trying to criticize but there were a few mistakes as a master mechanic i noticed but over all not too bad of a video. Id advise getting an engine stand and also your torque wrenches should always be tested to make sure their in tolerances.
