This is the exact same story as a memorable Dana Andrews picture from 1950 called "Where the Sidewalk Ends."

Didn't Billy Bob Thorton have a movie called the Man Who Never Was? It had the same plot as an episode of Suspense I think which stared Kirk Douglas.

Yes, I can see a clear depiction of the lonely, high strung defeated individual that is part of character for Dana Andrews. It is very important to note the character made up things and panicked. This is where people will say,"You don't have any sense." The panicked, depraved individual placates that points of total loss of life will shield from being discovered and deludes that he or she is exempted from life loss for lack of intelligence or morals. There was conceit here too.
