Works great unless your node server is on a cable/wireless or wifi provider that's double nated and/or if they block ports. Also, it helps if you tell others that you more than likely have to go to your router where your node is and port forward that iax2 port number to your node.

I think that is what my problem is. I am able to connect when I am at home but when I use my IP address I cannot connect when away from home. It tells me registration failed. Is it that I don't have port opening in the configuration of the node?

Nevermind, I had to turn the Wifi off on my phone to disconnect it from my wireless network. Once I did that I was able to connect.

I have my iPhone hooked up to my node via Zoiper. It works, but no PTT. *99 to keyup, # to keydown. Thanks for this how-to I needed for DVswitch!

I do like the capability to link up, or network (as you called it Parrott Mode), your various nodes together! That may be a great tool to have in cases of emergency / natural disasters, to bridge communication from several groups in a an area or even statewide! Hams could talk with GMRS users. (I do know Echolink can network repeaters together for statewide comms, or just general areas too! I have no idea how to do that, yet! Its above my pay grade! But the Natl. Weather Service does it, here in Ga., during severe storms. ⛈️🌪)

I just added this to my Zello Network radio, and it works great, I'm liking it, I was just using zoiper but it is very difficult to use while in motion.

This will work with your home Wifi if you configured the router port forwarding. But if you are at a hotel or elsewhere where you don't have access to configure the port forwarding on the router or the owner of the WiFi refuses to allow the port forwarding? If WiFi is not available or the port forwarding is not possible, then cellular data is another option. However, I read in the forums that many cellular system do not allow port forwarding. Also mentioned in the forums, VPN using Wireguard or OpenVPN can be used to get around the problem when the cellular systems do not allow port forwarding. Wireguard is suppose to be superior to OpenVPN. But there are no instructions I've seen yet how to set up VPN on a cellphone to allow access to the AllStarLink network on cellular service that does not allow port forwarding. It would be very useful to learn how to use VPN to access the AllStarLink network on cellular services that do not allow port forwarding. Have you experienced the problem where you need the cellular connect to the AllStarLink network, but cannot connect because the cellular system does not allow port forwarding?

This App seems to be like the EchoLink Apps for Android phones and tablets. And (possibly?) they have one for iphone / apple-sauce now.

DV Switch disconnects after one hour of listening mode. No sure why it is disconnecting a lot on its own, I have a strong signal for both wifi or LTE. I'm using the Inrico S380 handheld radio. Also many people always tell me that they see me keyed up but there is not audio and this happens a lot.

This phone was meant for AT&T or FirstNet (the First Responders Network) but this phone had no SIM I am just using WiFi Internet

You need a DNS to point to your network---> device

@@graveyard3751 DNS is networking 101 and it is a separate topic. I use Zerotier and that connect all my devices to my home! Good luck!

I cant connect via my mobile data going through my external ip address. Its saying either call failed or failed to register. It is working fine however when using my home WIFI on my phone. Any help would be much appreciated!
