In light of the AT&T outage I have become interested in setting up phonepatch on my allstar node but I can't quite get it to work. I get as far as getting it to register with the provider but that is it. I think that would be a great tutorial in the future. Your videos have been so helpful and I have really learned a lot keep up the great work!

The only thing I would add is that if you are using 1999 as a private node and you attempt to connect to any node that happens to already be connected to another pvt node using 1999, the connection will be refused, so it's often a good idea to random up that number to a different 1xxx.

Thanks for this video....awesome in every regard. I am new to DMR and struggling... Assuming with this setup I would need a hotspot for my DMR radio to connect to?

Not necessarily. I connects to the DMR network via DVSwitch and through the Internet. BUT If you had an active MMDVM (a.k.a. Pi-Star) near by on the same DMR Talkgroup as the AllStar Node DwSwitch server is set to you can hear the transmissions from either direction.

what a blessing you are. have a query.. i recently build dvswitch server on a pi4.. i also have Allstar running on a pi 4.... my question.. Can i install dvswitch server on the same pi running the allstar( not neccessarily to link to allstar) and free up one pi? i will still run dvswitch off my android device.

I run DVSwitch Server on my Allstar just to bridge to DMR. Now you prob can do as your thinking about but it may complicate the setup. I run a separate DVSwitch server on a Pi4 just to bridge DMR to YSF so it’s worth (to me) having the two DVSwitch servers separately

I don’t believe it’s meant for that. Just so you know it’s not allowable to bridge amateur radio frequencies with GMRS just FYI

OK - Thanks - I am not getting the link to my TGIF TG and the DvSwitch page doesn't show the small DMR info, but the mobile app appears to connect. The only INTENTIONAL change was 4570 instead of 4569 because i felt I needed to since my clearnode is 4569. @@HamRadioCrusader
