I think the Design and Performance series is tuned for that standard drum sound. The more expensive models will have slightly more distinctive voices which may not suit everyone

nice drums and great video, one question, are bass drum claw hooks rubber protected or it's like metal to wood hoop direct contact?

Thanks! Yes, the bass drum hooks are rubber protected so there is no metal to wood contact with the hoops.

Do you know if the design series are manufactured with the same technology the collectors and performance series are made with?

Yes the drum shells are made with DW's HVLT shell construction which is the same as some of their Collectors series drums. 🙂

@@ghostsmoke11 I can't say for sure as I haven't been to either factories. But having played both Collectors and Design series drums, I think you'd struggle to tell the difference in a blind test!

Probably a habit. Sometimes in my drumming I have to hit a particular tom drum or cymbal when it’s probably not necessary.

Not sure what people mean when they say that too short of sustain unless they have a drum set from the 1960s companies main focus now is to shorten the sustain on drums
