After that amount of effort and care building the drum you almost don't want to play it. Thank you for this great tour and interview.

Seeing a drum from just the plies turn into a drum then playing it just feels good because you know that drum set is made with care and high quality materials

That was a really interesting video. The enthusiasm comes through and you two guys describe the process so that it is not boring in any way.

I loved that. I think I am impressed with how simple it is. The fact that the presses only take 6 or 7 minutes each is pretty mind blowing.

SO MANY beautiful kits... so many bad drummers... Love the tour and John's total dedication to percussion. Now, can we possibly bring those prices down a bit? Yours truly, Ringo

Amazing to learn about the Almond kit that way....nice soundtrack at the end, but the main vocal is mixed way too loud, snare is hiding somewhere in the back of the mix sadly...

I was always a sjc person, never thought I would buy a dw, and I just ordered a performance series today. Don’t get me wrong, SJC is still a good company, never had a problem, but there’s something about Dw
@1dudecrush4 жыл бұрын
And that "something" is that they actually make their own shells 😂 apples and oranges, friend. SJC has made some kinda cool stuff over the years, but they've innovated nothing of note. DW is actively pioneering and improving drum technology every year.
@davidmcaninch47143 жыл бұрын
@@1dudecrush DW has made drum shells out of maple, birch, cherry, oak, Purple-heart, spruce, sycamore, almond (shown here), I mean the list is ever growing!!! There’s no limit to what DW can’t make!!! I happen to have a DW Design kit in Midnight Blue Satin made of North American hard-rock maple that just sounds phenomenal!!! Yes, their Collector Series kits are expensive but there’s a good reason for it: you’re gonna get your money’s worth with any DW kit!!! I said it before and I’ll say it again: Best. Drums. Ever!!!!!!

Also, is there I big difference in the different makes? Thanks if anyone can help out. I play a Music Man Sterling, I like good gear.

To bad DW isnt their own entity anymore. Roland bought them out so I can just imagine what the drums are gonna look like in two years from now and these guys that are running are going to be retiring so then Roland takes over.

John Good: "Magic wood, man. We only use MAGIC wood. It's different than wood that grew in other dirts on other planets that other manufacturers use". Fairy dust BS. Dude would be selling used cars now had he not been Don Lombardie's only student that had no life when he started DW.
@davidmcaninch47143 жыл бұрын
You think you’re a better drum maker? I’d like to see a video of you building a snare drum the same way that the good people of DW make them. I have no problem with people voicing their opinions, but when it’s done in bad taste, I get a little bit pissed off. Don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord split you. Unlike a lot of other companies, DW actually makes their own shells, and out of different woods, no less. You ever see a Purple Heart snare? I have. And it’s awesome!!!!

Yeayeayea..an whens all said an done..get a cheap dw kit,get that kit,have somebody play them in another room an ghey sound only slightly different to a drummers ear,regular ear. Means NOTHING!
