it is one of three of the original plants Iseli Nursery got when it came out. It was a propagation tree for a long time and Iseli sold two and kept the third for their display garden. This one goes to someone else's garden later this year, so I have $$$ to buy more

I cheated, I bought most all of mine already mature. through the years I "have owned" some wonderful mature cultivars. I still have a few original cultivars. In about 10 years I will have sold out most all of them
