That happens by accident if you have a huge, popular tavern. You'll end up with, literally, 100 entertainers from every race. About 1/3 will become citizens. Then someone from.one race kills another and you get to witness the purge, but in Dwarf Fortress. Its magnificent.

One of the great things about the multi-culture fort is that Goblin citizens (and I believe visitors too) have some sort of tag in the programming that causes them to go all in if they ever get into a fight. Urist McMiner decides to throw a punch at Gobo McImmigrant and all of the sudden it's WWE fortress wide with the loyalty cascade. Hide your kids, hide your wives, it's Battle Royal!

Ooooh Armok, I love how unhinged the Fort got, and you as well near the end. Lovely! And for a good cause. I could have sworn I actually did domesticate Wild Boars a few versions of DF back, maybe four years ago, but who knows, things might have changed. Still, it was quite entertaining, and I loved your burrow idea. I've done a tribe of "hill dwarves" many a time, settling on a side of a hill, with a few "tiers" of semi-dugouts, doing similar things as you did, first digging out a squallid bedrooms, then nicening it up and building a log cabin aboveground portion for each of the houses, making for a private dining room or just an enlargement of the bedroom. Then a pallisade around the lot of it, wooden fort with the militia, the boar (and few bears!) stockade, with longland beer and strawberry wine aplenty to go with boar roasts, and the trout from the brook, it was a good life there! Anyway, I look forward to the next time, you magnificent bastard.

@@kruggsmash None taken, taken from animal training: Every tame animal job increases overall fort training points for that animal by 10, and the fort training knowledge levels are attained at 30, 100, 250 and 500 (it zeroes points when it increases level). War and hunting jobs are also worth 10 points, but a maintenance job is only worth 3. If your fort level is higher than the civ level for a given animal, 10 points of knowledge are transferred with each caravan that gets off the map (so it'd take 88 years worth of caravans to bring the civ all the way up to "expert", but just 3 years to get every subsequent fort to start at "few facts"). In other words, it'd be a arduous task.

I was going to comment at how adorable this video was. I was smiling the whole way through, the drawn pictures of the animals earning the most amount of points from me. I also liked learning about the game's mechanics when it comes to animal training and domestication; those are the kinds of facts you don't usually learn about when you're playing a regular dwarf fort. Just a really wonderful episode and I'm tempted to say that this has been one of my favorite short forts in a while. I was laughing like crazy when the ending came around and we learned that all of the elves in the world had been wiped out and that the fortress had turned into an insane asylum. Just wonderful. Thanks for sharing Kruggsmash!

*Need Help!* I found nothing on this issue in reddit/DF_Wiki/bay12forum. I embarked on a 1x1 forest tile, surrounded by 8 tiles of forests/plains/mountains. Yet I only have 1 pack of animals active on each "layer" (Ground/Cave1/Cave2/Cave3). This would be perfectly fine, but my captured GCS now stopped Cave1 animals from appearing. Is there any way to check/increase the number of animal packs *at the same time* on the embarked map? a) After taming a giant cave spider, locking it and it reverting to wild state, cave1 stopped having other animals. (testing atm if moving her to another layer helps, doubtful) (As long as its caged its counted as my possession obviously but the moment its released I assume its counted again as active wildlife, blocking other wildlife from entering cave1.) Only remote clue I found was the story about breeding water serpents, which accessed two creatures that only appear solo + being _population_1_per_biome_creatures._ Yet again I do not even get more than one pack at all in my cave1, so unless those serpents counted towards different layers of ocean (equal to cave1/cave2/... visitors and preventing those to be active), it is probably not connected to my issue. I want to have animals on my map without mods/DF_Hack if possible. The "Animal_Cluster" token only influences pack size not number of clusters apparently? (Just to clarify: This inquiry is not about extinct wildlife or pack sizes, but having visiting animals at all, preferably more than 1 pack per "layer" at a time. Might be linked to embark size?) Or is the whole issue a bug/version/game limit? I would ask around forums for help, but I am not registered and don't want to be forced to do so... Very sorry that it is unrelated to the high quality videos here, but I guess I try to rely on the "new" player bonus.

I don’t know if this would be too much work or if you even know anyone who would join, but I had this idea awhile back. Set a time limit of say 10-20 in game years to train and equip an army of dwarves. Once you and everyone else who is participating have hit the time limit, write down the skills and gear of each person’s army and recreate them in the test arena and see whose band if misfits wins.

Edit: A pretty interesting episode overall, especially with the dwarves cramming so many snakes into one cage. Out of curiosity, have you ever made it a goal of your fortress to conquer the circus and capture the clowns within? Apparently you can use webbing and cage traps to catch clowns (since they normally can't be caged, though thats where the webs come in). Just a thought if you wanted to try something hardcore. "Can't do any harm, right?" The world and dwarf fortress have some disturbing similarities. If you plant trees in the North over where snow/tundra would be you're decreasing the planet's albedo, reflecting less and absorbing more heat from the Sun. For best results plant closer to the equator. (it's also possible to have forests that are too dense, makes eventual fires much larger)
