I really stick to .47 still because the new UI is ass. but you COULD I feel that creating items for non-dwarves could be done in the same manner you designate say a image/item type/etc. where you create a task>designate>fit. Fit here being the race of creature its for. Like "Human fit" or "Goblin fit"

It used to be that dwarves breed trough spores, but it might have changed as I believe some creatures needs to be adjacent to breed. So the breeding dwarves might have more free time close to each other. And also they need to be married. There is also a chance that the game are giving you extra babies to fill out all the empty spots. Oh, and I believe it used to be that dwarves where fiercely monogamous to the point they would only breed with their original partner even if the partner died. I wonder if there is a bug there where dwarves that divorces and remarry somehow keeps the tag that makes them breed with their original partner but also is prevented from doing so by the new marriage, might explain some things.

25:31 There are multiple layers to this artifact when you think about. Given it was made from a possession event, it is basically made from a dwarven ghost who was there when Spearcavern was founded. The icy cold aesthetics of the pick also gives it an appearance of origin from a ice fortress in the frozen wastelands of the north.

What you said about wisp, and as I've watched another person's dwarf fortress streams on twitch some time ago, I did notice there was a major lack of support for dwarves with handicaps or disabilities of different kinds. I am quite worried for her, that it truly might be it if the strange mood makes her go insane. Sadder yet the ones that go "stark raving mad" and babble to themselves whilst wandering the fort without their outfit or go catatonic and just sit there sad and don't do anything never drink any more alcohol of their own accord and leave the dwarves behind with their dehydrated body. I've seen people experiment with the possibility of them being in a situation where other dwarves are forced to care for them (Jailed / stuck injured in a hospital) but the guy I was watching wasn't able to act on it before the dwarf got too far along in their condition. I think it's possible to save insane dwarves but you'd have to plan a few steps ahead and count on good luck(?) to even have that happen. (Very well possible they can explode on their compatriots instead, probably one of the worst results.)

The fact that Dwarf Fortress has the potential to make wild intricate contraptions (like your KingTrap series) but seems to not have prosthetics is absurd to me (this is not a slight against you this is a dissapointment twords the game)

19:12 must be weird from the NPC's perspective. PC: "wanna buy this loot i got?" NPC: "sure, I'll give you this water in exchange" PC: "hell no, that's too expensive, nevermind" NPC: ???

I can't believe it's been FORTY YEARS in-game! How long until some of the dwarves start going gray I wonder?

My dwarves usually just drop dead after an encounter with "deadly dust". So I don't really like to fight them straight on if I can avoid it.

I had a "strike issue" also I broke mine by assigning everyone to the military and forceing thme to train..... I read somewhere it might be a religion issue. and you need to make a worship spot for each diety, so I did that for every deity just stacked on its self (It was a pain), but it seems to have work for me, at least for now. It does appear to be a needs issue imo.
