My appreciation for your comment. A little information about dumplings - pierogi.The oldest dumplings come from China. Saint Jacek Odrowąż brought pierogi to Poland in the 12th century. He saw the recipe for dumplings in Ruthenia(Western Ukraine today) from the Tarars. Hence the traditional name Ruthenian pierogi (pierogi ruskie). Before the dumpling meal, the following prayer was said: "St. Jacek with dumplings, pray to God for us that these dumplings will be on the table all year round and protect us from hunger ”.
