Added chapters for those that want to skip any part of the video for any reason. I'm trying to be better about them. My apologies!

No need for apologies. We are just happy that you’re doing it. Also, I don’t care what KZbin thinks, this is my favorite format for reactors.

@janetdw I appreciate that you like my format. I've debated switching it up and everytime someone says this and reminds me I have it good there. I'm the only one that does it this way as far as I know.

@@Warraxbaa David K does it this way and sometimes Patrol Nation if he is too blown away to stop part way through 🤣. I wish others would as well. I think that other reactors miss a lot of the more subtle things that those of us without musical training wouldn’t necessarily catch. If you stop and start you get the obvious things, but miss all those subtleties. I have no musical training and suffer an auditory perception issue (I don’t always hear consonants the way they’re spoken. It’s kind of like auditory dyslexia) so I really like having people point up the subtleties. By the way the drums that you liked… Another comment on another reaction stated that it reminded them of Geoff’s God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman. And I think it was the drum beat. I believe that might have been the same drum plug-in or at least something very similar.

Love this one the most. Gimli, Durin's folks ghosting in and back out, Gimli walking away. So stunningly beautiful.

This on is truly gorgeous. I cannot get it out of my head (and that's rarely a good thing.) I go to sleep with Geoff's voice in my head and wake hearing this. It makes a wonderful background soundtrack to my day.

Geoff built the tomb of Balin himself back in his garage. He and Kathy spent a day setting all props up at PattyCake . Then a long day filming.. Had to start with the most hairless dwarf and film, then work themselves all up to Gimli. As the separate characters sometimes only sing a single Kathy had her hands full of directing/reminding him which one he was and if he had to look at right or left during that line. It totally paid off. Had me start rereading the whole LOTR again. Just finished book one and are singing Boromir away in his funeral boat at the moment.

Thanks for this detailed reaction. I absolutely love Geoff's Song of Durin. Kathy did a wonderful job helping Geoff plan this one and making it excellent, especially in getting Gimli's look down.

You say you’re not a musician but you picked out a lot of instrumental things that I had missed. I don’t know about the pink light, but in the behind-the-scenes they were showing a little bit of the lighting scheme and when the golden lights came on his instructions were something like bright lights - hopeful. I need to go back and watch the behind-the-scenes again because I’ve missed a lot of things that reactors are picking up on. Maybe it’ll help all this information to sink in so I actually remember it when I’m listening instead of saying “ooooh that’s so pretty”! Misty Mountains has been my favorite for a long time. I find the pacing and the deep bass very soothing . Then he came out with I See Fire with each of the dwarves really getting to show off their own range. This combines the best of both in my opinion. It’s got that slow pacing where you can really appreciate that deep voice, but each of the dwarves get to sing a bit as well. But those harmonies! Delicious!

Oh, If you're looking for something completely different that will offer some drummer fun, check out Dirty Loops "Rock You"; three top tier musicians from Sweden having fun while creating a dang good listen. After that, if you're interested in a blast of a drum solo, check into their "Work Shit Out" song.
