As an African from Guinea-Bissau, I think it's time the Europeans stop talking about the "Portuguese discoveries" because no one was playing hide-and-seek and waiting for the Portuguese to come and "discover" them. But as long it's the colonisers telling the (his)story of others, the demeaning language will keep on going. The European imperialist propaganda machine continues working at full speed!

Good point. There could be a marketing issue there. English speakers (probably the widest audience) would recognize Cape Verde, but that could be clarified at the beginning.

That Cachupa cooked at minute 16:00 is totally inefficient and unhealthy both for the self and the planet. Poor food mskes poor people. Poor food has usually lots of meat and taste.

For 10 euros a day you can have your "guide" getting you all you need. But food is all imported ,local food is bad quality,sailing yachts are stopping there for a while and german guy has built a marina and is charging e traordinary prices. New houses are sold to foreigners to be rent out as holiday hotels. Avoid at all costs.....

Food is bad quality? I don't know what you are there, but I don't think you know what you're talking about. Cape verde has the same food you will find all over the world. A little africa, Spanish, 80% Portuguese and brazil, and Latin America. What ever you ate there, not sure what it was, but you don't sound you know what you're talking about

Are you serious? It's the other way around. The similarity in culture was brought to Brazil by the people that came from this island and other parts of Africa. The Brazilian carnival has it's roots from the people that were taken there as slaves
@walberdealbuquerquebarbosa6702
@walberdealbuquerquebarbosa6702 6 ай бұрын
@a.m.icadete7578 the brazilian carnival, you mean Rio de Janeiro Carnival , right? Carnival was brought by Europeans , samba was brought by Africans , but the way the party happens today in Rio , was made by Brazilians from different backgrounds. It's clear that Cape Verde Carnival was inspired by Rio's Carnival, the costumes and the organization of the event are pretty similar, also, I know Cape Verdian Music and there is huge influence from MPB and Bossa Nova. I don't know why people get offended by this fact.

@la1130 Novelas have a huge influence in cultural aspects, the same for Brazilian music. I don't get why people get mad for something obvious. All countries are influenced by others, for example the US influences many countries in the world exporting music and movies, series and etc.. and so, Africans influenced Brazil and Brazil influenced Africans , especially portuguese speaking countries.
