Not just related to this video but I love watching these videos, I’m working in roughly the same area of my bug and it’s so useful to see how these panels are layered up generally, as well as seeing your awesome skills! That press work on the back section was an idea that wouldn’t have even occurred to me!

Very cool House VW, I like seeing into the hidden sections too. It's fascinating to think of all these parts coming together on the assembly line from individual pieces. You start to see some of the clever things VW did to make sure they were able to crank out a lot of these cars in a short amount of time. Thanks for the kudos on the press work, it's something I wanted to try for a long time and finally found a good excuse. See you soon!

Thanks Hubertus, I know you do the same on your T3. Not rushing through these steps really pays off when the project is rolling again. I look forward to seeing you again soon.

I love the way you work. It's always better to do things right! I personally don't mind waiting for anything. When the reason(s) are because someone istaking the time to do things correctly! Take your time, at least I'll still be here to support you when the time comes. I feel certsin that many others feel the same way.

Thanks much for the supportive thoughts TheWhitetailrancher, this was one of those decisions I didn't want to make but felt better about it as soon as I did. I've gotten a glimpse of the painting project that is coming and am excited about the coming steps. Looking forward to sharing the process with everyone and I'm glad to know you'll be there for it!

I’m gonna need to somehow do this area on mine. But with everything in place. 🤔👍

Hey Vw Rosstorations! That will be challenging but possible. The good news is it's low visibility; it won't matter as much if the paint isn't perfect. I look forward to seeing what you come up with, I'm sure it'll be a great result!

Lucky you found out now rather than after it was all buttoned up. I dont need to worry about that, the previous owner of my daughter's 72 beetle had a plan to shave all the trim door handles, hood and trunk handles and sealed the back window air duct.

Yeah, didn't want to stop the metal work but it's for the better. Regarding the sealed air duct- I'm guessing the previous owner provided another way for cooling air to get to the engine. I've seen some kit cars that were lacking in this area and seem to have oil temp issues. All that aside, I bet the '72 looks great and is a lot of fun!

@@HapticGarage It had an offset deck lid for a while but we put it back to stock. The highest temperature has been 180 even on hot days. No one ever said if that was too high for the bug or maybe an inaccurate gage
@HapticGarage
@HapticGarage 2 жыл бұрын
@@barrysteinlage6888 These engines run around 200 degress when things are going well, so 180 doesn't sound bad to me. The big variable other than gauge accuracy is sender location. Sometimes the sender doesn't get a good read on the temp if it's not in the flow of oil or it's after the cooler. All of this said, the most important thing is your result; sounds like the car does everything you want it to and that counts!
