Straight out of high school, Dwight Howard made it known around the NBA that he was going to be one of the most dominant big men in the league. One of the best shot blockers & rebounders the league has ever seen, Howard has been terrorizing teams in the paint for years. Lets take a look at his career so far and count down his 10 best plays!

Howards magic was the last time I can remember a playoff contending team that was led by a dominant big man. Nowadays it seems every team is led by guards, and forwards.

I have no idea why Howard is criticized so harshly. I've watched him for countless years and it's not fair to say "he's a baby" or "he's an awful player" because frankly his work ethic and dedication to the team he is on is enormous. Plus to people who are comparing Howard to Kareem, Wilt or Malone; that's an incredibly inaccurate comparison considering the game has changed significantly since their years. Just the same for comparing Jordan and Lebron, you can't. Different players, different lives and different societies. These phenomenal athletes need to stop being judged because it's their life and at the end of the day they are playing the game while you are watching them from the sidelines. You have no right to judge.
@Vaelis01
@Vaelis01 10 жыл бұрын
The problem a lot of people have with Howard is that until last year, he had no real post game. He has always had the potential to be a great post up bigman, he was just late to develop that part of his game.
@markkers1
@markkers1 10 жыл бұрын
Yeah but he's still only 28 years old so doing well in the post in the NBA at around age 26-27 isn't too shabby...especially since it was the only thing he was lacking. I just think he deserves respect, people criticize him for his decisions and only base their judgements of him from leaving Orlando. Nobody knows the real reasons besides him and his agent. I just think that what he does on the court replicates his work ethic. If he wasn't working hard (which many people think) he would be ending up like Andrew Bynum who not too long ago was competing with Howard as the number one center. Sure he has had knee problems but there are many reports and interviews of his awful work ethic. Just saying Howard is a phenomenal player and should be treated as one.

It wouldve looked way less dramatic if you actually put stuff that mattered. #x southeast division champs? Nba community assist award? Dunk contest winner and runner up? Heck I wouldnt even put eastern conference champion up there but whatever. And you didnt need to put 7 all NBA selections if u were gonna list it out. Heres what the list shouldve looked like olympic gold medal Eastern Conference Champion(just cuz) 7x NBA all star 3x defensive player of the year 4x All NBA first team 2x All NBA third team 3x All NBA defensive first team 1x All NBA defensive second team 1x All NBA Rookie First team Still respectable but not hall of fame worthy

You know, Dwight is bound to be a first ballot hall of famer. He'll probably average a double/double his entire career. He'll probably retire as one of the best rebounders and defensive players in the history of the game. And he can also score. If you look at rebounds per minute stats, the only people better in the history of the sport are Russell and Chamberlain. And they were playing in a much easier era, for big men

Should be renamed Supermans Top Plays cause that's what he used to be. Not he's just Dwight. Hasn't played the same since leaving Orlando. He seemed more into the games when he used to play for the Magic going for every single block and dunking on anyone in his way. Now he's changed.

I'm not sure what you're talking about though, he's the same player in Houston today and a little better I think. He's averaging 19ppg despite being the third option on offense (Harden is a supreme ball hog!) and still a beast on the boards grabbing 13rebs per game. His defense is still superb, and his post moves has noticeably improved.

Where ever he goes he ruins the atmosphere in that team. He is not a superstar, fuck stats, he is not a leader, he has no ambition. He is just like a small kid who likes to play basketball.

Dwight Harden Dwight's alright. He's currently the best center in the league right now (Arguable considering Al Jefferson has been playing amazing this season). But if he had a jumper like Dirk he would be lethal. If he could work on getting his free throws better and obtain a jumper, I don't see why Houston wouldn't be able to get a ring.

im a Bulls fan and I see the Heat or Clippers getting the ring. Thunder are also serious contenders we will have to see when Westbrook comes back

Honestly he is an amazing player missing a few fundamentals. If he could get them down i believe that he could be one of the greatest ever centers. (He is already in the top 12 in my book)
